Check out Antonio Banderas as the Phantom with Sarah Brightman.

He actually has an amazing tenor voice.

I feel like Simon Cowell saying this but WOW definitely not Sarah Brightman's best performance. The only part where I was like "wow, definitely her" was at the very end...the rest of the song I was just like ugh she doesn't sound goooood.

But he was awesome! I love how every Phantom, at least for me anyways, makes me feel different emotions towards the Phantom. For example, Michael Crawford makes me actually empathize with the Phantom-but Antonio Banderas makes me feel like the Phantom is inherently evil.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that about Sarah. I was sort of shocked at the beginning.
And I definitely get the 'evil' feel from his phantom....very interesting, very interesting indeed :) I also think the accent gives it an interesting dimension, both in his singing and 'as' the phantom.

That Spanish accent is a bit weird tho.

Sarah's voice has a lot more... body these days. She sounds like a typical diva soprano, she doesn't have that unique, clear voice she had in the days of Phantom of the Opera.

But she can still nail that end note!

I like him, but I still can't stand her. Her voice bugs me for some reason. *shrugs shoulders* I guess I'm biased. I'm a HUGE fan of Emmy Rossum.

i always enjoyed the fact that he says "Phamton" instead of "Phantom."

hee :-)

and he definately gives the part a certain... well, Spanish Pizzaz. definately better than Gerik!!

I have rather liked watching/listening to this video since I found it awhile back. Banderas can easily make me melt, I will admit it. ^_~
