Just went to the American merch shop on the website because in Australia here, Winter is close and I need a hoodie of some description. When they didnt have a medium of the plain logo hoodie, I emailed them about it, and apparently once that item sells out they arent going to be restocking. So just letting everyone know that if they want a hoodie from the merch, they should probably think about getting it sooner rather than later. I had to bay an extra $13 getting it from the UK one instead.

Hello again.

I know I just emailed you but I have another record you might want :)

This one is from Operation Aloha, which includes members of Maroon 5, Gomez, Phantom Planet, All Spots To Black, Kahn Brothers and others.

With a month of free time in between tours, recording and the general chaos of their schedules, the 14 musicians who make up OPERATION ALOHA, flew to the to the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii to live in a strange compound of tree houses with friends whom they respect and share common interests with.
Captivated by the magnificence of the island, the group of old and new friends, decided to plug in some instruments and see what happens.

Allowing themselves to step away from their usual roles and be inspired by bohemian living, the group took a no-constraints approach to their songwriting and recording. The end result is a collection of songs that experiments with their love of blues inspired rock and Hawaiian folk music, all the while capturing the tranquility, freedom and spirit of Hawaii.
 
The self-titled debut will be self-released on May 12th.

hey everybody.


felt the need to post a little note . . .

just wanted to share with everyone the two coolest photos i've ever seen,
and not because they are technically amazing, which they are (they remind me of the radiohead video for Go To Sleep) . . .


they are 4D photos of my little girl cozy inside her mom's belly!
come august i'm going to be a dad!

no names yet . . . still working on that one . . . but she's perfectly healthy and treating her momma very well.

hope everyone is doing well too! springtime is nice . . .

Think this could be the cause of the break? I want to be hopeful but she would only be a couple weeks or so when they announced it so I doubt it. It does give me reason to be hopeful.

I know these kinds of posts can be annoying, but does anyone want to buy a brand new Phan Plan shirt size girls medium (it fits sort of like an American Apparel small)? I bought it from the FBR store and it doesn't fit. I'd like to sell it for $15, so it's like saving 5$ in FBR shipping, and I'll throw in some extra Phantom Planet stuff too.

Anyone else think that Fueled by Ramen newsletter thing that just got sent out was absolutely stupid?

For those that didn't see it....



I don't like that they put "1994 - 2008" as if they died or something. And I'm sorry...because I am still not 100% OK that they signed with Fueled by Ramen...I was semi-infuriated at the "We will miss you!" thing...especially since the newsletters barely EVER contained any Phantom Planet news and I feel like the label didn't do a ton to get them back out there after their album hiatus. Arrrggghhhh.

Hopefully if/when they come back it will be on a different label where they actually fit in.

So now that it is all over, I've got a few questions I've been wondering about. I figured I would see what you all thought.
1. How long do you think their hiatus will last? I know someone said that Sam said 2 years, but do you think it will be longer/shorter?
2. Since Sam did say 2 years, any theories as to what would be 2 years long?
3. Since JB came up on stage for a few songs, do you think he would be a part of the reunion? Do you think they would ask him?
4. How successful do you think Al's solo stuff will be? Do you think he will actually be able to fully tour it or will he be sticking to Cali and some other close spots?

I know that everyone in here are Phantom Planet super fans so I highly doubt anyone will want to part with theirs but, on the whim someone maybe has an extra, does anyone have a ticket stub they can send me? I will even pay you for it! My sister in law bought the tix online as an xmas gift and didn't realize that I am a super dork and would want the actual stub for framing. I was going to ask someone at the show but was on such a high that I completely forgot. If not that's cool...obviously I'm trying to get one so I understand if you don't want to part with one.

sidenote: I was the guy who shouted "don't break up!" towards the end of the show. Yeah, I was kind of drunk haha...but I completely meant it. In either case that was a fantastic show as every Phantom Planet show (especially at The Troubadour) has been.

Just got back from LA from seeing the final PP show at the Troub. 16 hours of driving but well worth it! I have decided that, after last night, I am on indefinite hiatus from seeing any more concerts. That was the greatest show of my entire life and, unless PP plays again, I'm retiring. Why not go out on top? I will post pics and vids as soon as I get them up.

I have never been to the Troubador and, despite some things I have heard, it was a  really cool venue (in my opinion). I got there super early and my wife and I were right towards the front when I decided, "I don't want any distractions (ie. pushing, big heads, etc) for this show" so I moved to the balcony where I stood at the very front next to the VIP section. Great sound, great view, AMAZING show. I didn't stay very long afterwards mainly because I was exhausted from the drive and I had to pee like a race horse. Therefore, I passed on a chance to talk to the guys one last time...

With that said, did anyone talk to them and find out or does anyone just know off hand if those cameras were filming for a future dvd? I'm thinking that maybe they just filmed it for their own viewing pleasure but a dvd would make me the happiest guy on the planet (aside from a reunion "mabye some new stuff...mostly old").
