In a recent Washington Post article:

In Md. Suburbs, Police Find Shifting Gang Allegiances

...Officials in Montgomery and Prince George's counties launched a joint task force in 2004, publicly acknowledging that the counties had a gang problem. To a large degree, the effort targeted MS-13, the Latino gang responsible for violent attacks -- some involving machetes -- in Northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs....

In Prince George's, people who claim affiliation with the Bloods and the Crips are proliferating among smaller neighborhood gangs, a law enforcement source said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to discuss the topic publicly....

When they formed in Los Angeles, the Bloods and the Crips were exclusively African American gangs. In Montgomery, as elsewhere, gangs identifying with the Bloods and the Crips increasingly include Hispanics and whites. The Vampire Bloods, for example, is what Word, the Gaithersburg detective, calls an "equal opportunity employer, so to speak."...
