HEELP! We need to know what are the good MST's for the numerically impaired!!!

OH HAI THAR EVERYONE!

Patulong naman diyan sa mga kawawang ngayon pa lang makakatikim ng pagkuha ng mga MST (ehehehe, mga kalalabas lang kasi sa certificate course nila eh)...

We'd like to know what are the really good, FUN and INTERESTING Math, Science & Tech (MST) subjs with well, not so much emphasis on medium-to-heavy number crunching - so yes, mga minimal math lang

*mahina sa numerical comprehension, ehehehehe , *hides in shame >_<**...

... at isa pa daw, are there any subjects with fieldtrips? Not just MST's but other subjects in other fields as well.

Help is greatly appreciated, much love and hugs to those who do help.

Bio 1~

Pray that you get Ong 'cause he's fun like that and there's barely any number-crunching.

Oh, and Kas 1 (under Villan, definitely) has field trips to Fort Santiago, Paco Park and the like. I've heard of Kas 1 field trips that take you to like, Mt. Banahaw, methinks.

Yay!

Bio1 under Ong? *notes it down*

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

... i've heard of Kas1 trips under Villan too, any other SSP subjects?

Bio 1 in general has little or no numbers, if I remember correctly. I'm only recommending Ong because he was my teacher and I'm biased like that and he gave me 1.5

*was under Villan* ^_^ I'm not sure about other SSP subjects. Though our Social Science 3 teacher wanted to take us on a field trip to Quiapo. Di siya natuloy, sadly. D=

s'alright, i'd ah, pimp the subjects of the prof who'd give me a grade like that too :P

aww, sayang naman yun sa Quiapo, hahaha, maraming maraming salamat!!!

Lahat yata ng Geography 1 classes (o halos lahat? O:) ay merong field trips xD Si Ma'am Jessica Villanueva ang nakuha ko, pero di na yata siya nagtuturo ngayon xD;

Kung kailangan mo pa ng PE, kunin mo ang Skin Diving XDb May field trip/culminating activity yun sa beach xD

Nat Sci 2? *notes down* what about Nat Sci 1, is it alright as well?

... hmmm, Geog1 is beginning to sound interesting too, hee, ano ginagawa sa geog1? anu-ano pinaguusapan niyo?

sayang wala na ako pe, naubos ko na lahat ng required pe ko eh, haaay, sayang, wish i'd learned about that sooner XD

Nat Sci 1: Chem and Physics. Hindi ko pa siya nakuha eh, so di ko alam ^^; Bio and Geol kasi yung 2 :D

Haha, basic Geog stuff :D Mga maps, culture, etc. Hindi ko na siya masyadong maalala, kasi 2 months wala yung prof ko kaya di siya masyado nakapagturo xD;

hahahaha, oh yes, they do sound promising, lalo na Nat Sci 2, i had bio and geol related dreams as child. LOL.

And yes, mukhang interesting na talaga yang Geog na yan, will try to land a slot there XD...

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! your help is so much appreciated *here, have a cookie! hee!*

take STS, preferably under sir Nemenzo (if he's still handling one).
no computations. interesting topics.

Geol1 under sir Listanco has a fieldtrip, and it's not required.

OOOH... wait, no particular number of which STS, is it really just plain, well, STS?

"no computations. interesting topics" --> AHA, YOU GOT ME THAR!

*notes down STS in good MST's list*

Geol1 under Sir Listanco? Will do! *notes it down as well*

Thank you so much!!!! XD 'tis greatly appreciated :)

no number for STS.. =]

I don't think you should be scared to try math 1 or 2
(but don't take it from me, I'm a math major.. =P)

Seconding David for Nat Sci 2. Nat Sci 1 under Magpantay for Physics is multiple choice exams and it was really easy for me. Geology 1 under Sir Listanco is my favorite MST out of them all - the field trip nabs you an additional ten points in the exams, I think. His exams are multiple choice too. No numbers.

All Geography classes have field trips, I think. Take Juanico. :D He's very easygoing, might go off on tangents sometimes like Sir Magpantay, but the exams...:D In our class they were take-home multiple choice ones.

Art Stud field trips have them over the course of a weekend.

Nat Sci2 under prof David & Geog 1 under Prof Listanco are beginning to emerge as lead contenders here it seems XD

... tamang tama din, kailangan ko ng madaming magandang MST para mapuno ang required units namin ng MST for the bachelor's degree XD

I've had an Art Stud class before, yes, they do have them over the weekends, wouldnt mind having another again though, hahahaha (sana puwede pa mag AH subjects uli... they're quite interesting really, aside from the fieldtrips XD)

Thank you for sharing and recommending so much with detail pa! Salamat ng marami!!!

Haha, good luck, I guess?

You're welcome &hearts

Hahaha, ang dami ko pang-MST na kailangan, dahil walang MST sa particular certif course ko eh, mostly SSP and AH subjects sa GE then majors...

I had my Art Stud 1 under Sir Felipe De leon. He's great really, if not readings heavy - siya prof ko sa art stud 1 last sem eh, pero napakasaya ng mga field trips niya (we went to banaue & sagada last sem - over the weekend din - but he has fieldtrips to other areas as well)

XD ♥

yes, from the posts above, MS and Geol are all that i see, plus some Geog too XD

I've had an art stud subj before, AS 1 under sir De Leon - enjoyed it immensely, sana kailangan pa namin isa o dalawa pang AH, gusto ko ng isa pang Art Stud na subj uli, hahahaha

Thank you so much for sharing! 'Tis greatly appreciated! *hands over a cookie*

Naaadi!

Get Physics10! It's fun :D no number-crunching, I don't remember ever bringing a calculator. :P Kaso lang classes are held in the new NIP building, so take that into account.

LA1 is also pretty interesting; it's different from all the other GEs I've taken. :P

LA 1 is a super GE and can stand for any field (AH, SSP, MST) but I suggest taking it as an MST since its incredibly hard to get the required MST GEs.

Try STS and Math 2. ^_^ I don't think you should take Bio 1. You might end up with a *weird* professor. Take Nat Sci 2 instead. ^_^

... Don't take Physics 10 unless you know which prof to take. I assure you it can be very fun, but... this semester, don't. Most of the profs teaching are new, (1-2 years of teaching) and are used to hard physics. And are rather demanding. I also second the idea not to take Bio 1 unless you know who to take (in short, if you don't get a 'good' prof, don't enlist in another professor because it may be a bad idea).

Every student's experience differs however; you may want a challenge.

I recommend NatSci 1 NatSci 2, Math 2 (you're allowed to use calculators) and Geol 1. Physics 10 should have also been great (but again, not this sem).

Math 2 is great, it's got fractions, rounding off, simple and compound interest, although I hear that newer professors are teaching permutations and combinations. Not that difficult still, though. Math 1 is less practical, so I don't recommend that.

from experience, the two's are easier than one's. natsci 2 is better than natsci 1 although it was fun as well.(i had Sir abastillas laughing all through out the sem) math 2 i think is also easier than math 1. and it is true that math 2 is more practical. i suggest sir saguin for geog 1. ma'am cases for socio 10 and ma'am alaras for any english subject you want. those are my most fun subjects.
