cat_unicahija
Hi!  Anyone out there taking:

Geol 1 THU1
Catane
TTh 10-11:30, NIGS 128

And

Soc Sci 3 THV
Manalastas
TTh 11:30-1:00, PHAN 202

I wasn't able to attend class last Tuesday due to registration.  I showed up today but the rooms were completely empty, so I kind of assumed that they met last Tuesday and agreed not to meet today since no other students were around either.  I was just wondering if we were given homework or anything for next meeting.  I'd really appreciate it if anyone out there could inform me.

Thanks so much in advance!

Catherine

COI? []

outinspace
Some subjects on CRS are marked "for X majors only, COI for non-X". I was under the impression that COI meant "certification of instructor", so I asked the instructor handling the elective I wanted if I could get enlisted into it. I wasn't expecting a reply, but she did and I was allowed to get on the class list after I showed the enlistment staff her certification. I finished my 5a, moved on to my 5, and successfully paid for my second semester, including that particular subject. I thought everything was fine.

That was last Wednesday, November 4, though.

When I checked my CRS records last night, I found out that the department had cancelled my slot in that subject last Thursday, November 5. I really don't understand why they did that when:
1. I already had clearance (aka certification) from the professor (aka instructor) in question
2. I've already taken the necessary prerequisite for that subject
and
3. I already confirmed and paid for my slot without any violent reactions from either the department or my home college on the day prior to cancellation.

The only explanation I can think of for this is that COI means something else, but that doesn't seem to make much sense.

Does anybody know why this happened?

Roommate wanted []

all_boxed_up
Ive been in this boardinghouse for almost ten years mainly because monthly rent is cheap, Php 1200, for a four-person studio-type room. secondly, my landlady is very agreeable, respectful of our "rights" as bed-spacers, and lenient when it comes to late rentals (very helpful during my tag-hirap college days). lastly, even though pang-apatan sya, seldom siyang napupuno, so parang may sarili ka ring room for a cheap rent (btw with CR na ito).

As payback sa mabait kong landlady, naghahanap ako ng isang roommate pamalit sa umalis na bed-spacer na di nagpaalam/bumalik or kinuha man lang ang gamit.

For those interested, inquire at #60 Lt. J. Francisco St. Krus na Ligas, gray gate near Laundry Aid & computer shop, brown door to the right. No downpayment

Pol Sci 14 (enlistment question) []

cat_unicahija
Hey guys!  It's that time of the year again.  I would just like to ask.  How is Verna Viajar as a Pol Sci 14 professor?  Like how does she handle the class and does she give decent grades?

It would also help if you could comment on all these other Pol Sci 14 professors, in case you've been in their class:

RYE, RANJIT

PILAPIL, GENE

TORRES, CRISLINE

NEMENZO, FRANCISCO

FRAGO, PERLITA

CAINGHOG, NELSON

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

GO LOCAL LOCO []

tintin08

In the three years that Yabang Pinoy has been organizing the Global Pinoy Bazaar, a venue that showcases Filipino products made with pride, it has constantly reminded Filipino consumers to continuously be aware of local alternatives. Yabang Pinoy has also inspired local entrepreneurs to take pride in being Filipino, motivating them to believe in their own original creations, and enabling them to develop unique products each and every time.

On its first year, the Global Pinoy Bazaar assembled Filipino entrepreneurs to speak for what it means to be shouting proud Filipinos, in a single booming voice. On the second, it challenged them to come up with products that stand for unique ideas and excellent Filipino craftsmanship, and build brands that hold their own against globally dominant ones.

This year, Yabang Pinoy takes its cause one step further by encouraging these shouting proud Filipino entrepreneurs to better express their love for country and culture by using local natural resources, whose immense potential is still largely untapped. The Philippines is blessed with breathtaking nature, one that provides for the huge variety and richness of the country’s resources, and Yabang Pinoy hopes, will be used by Filipino entrepreneurs for their brands to be distinct and competitive, even superior, in the global market.

In the upcoming Yabang Pinoy Bazaar, to be held on Nov. 14-15, 2009 at the Rockwell Tent, Yabang Pinoy appeals again for the support and participation of these entrepreneurs, to whom it has intensified its commitment to support. At the same time that it encourages them to launch limited edition items at the bazaar. Yabang Pinoy is also publishing the Yabang Pinoy handbook, a directory of Filipino products made with pride which will be given for free to all shoppers, to sustain their momentum of wise consumer spending, even down to the last P1.00.

There will come a time when Filipinos will be more conscious of where the spend their money, even down to the last peso. But until that time, Yabang Pinoy will need the help of entrepreneurs, local companies and Filipino consumers, who will never tire of buying and being Filipino. Be part of the Yabang Pinoy consumer revolution.
