Pet Store Guinea Pigs

This community is for guinea pig owners of all kinds!

Like most pig owners, we have the utmost love for our guinea pigs, but either cannot afford to drive a ridiculous amount of time and miles out of the way OR there are no rescues. As owners, we want what is best for our little critters and as long as they are happy and healthy, nothing else should matter. Not all pet stores are "bad" but we'll admit, not all are good. But if we continue supporting our local pet stores, there has to be something good about them.

If you're one of us who has bought a guinea pig from a pet shop, come join the discussion. Everyone, even if you don't have pet store pigs but just like guinea pigs, is welcome unless you're going to make nasty and hateful remarks about another members thoughts/feelings/opinions. As with other communities, harrasing will not be tolerated, but opinions are welcome.

Pictures are absolutely allowed, as well as any questions/thoughts/concerns or ANYTHING to do with piggies. :)

Disclaimer: This isn't to glorify pet shops, because as mentioned, not all are good, but not all are bad either. There are a great many pet shops that take pride in their small animals and their supplies and those are the ones we support, but if given the opportunity to adopt at a nearby shelter to help save a poor little piggies life, we would. We love guinea pigs and helping them to live happier, healthier lives is all we care about.
