Welcome to
petinfo! This community was created with the intention of helping people to learn about pets and their care. There are two specialists for each animal who may answer your questions on that particular animal. Though we have specialists, anyone is welcome to join and put their pet knowledge to use answering questions for people.

Rules:
- Please be respectful, debate is fine but please refrain from being rude and starting flame wars. If someone's methods seem off ask before you assume and jump on them for it.
- If a situation of drama and flaming occurs in the comments of a post, do NOT make another post about the situation even if the original post is deleted. If you need to continue your "battle" take it elsewhere.
- You have three strikes before you are kicked out of the community, whether we find something you've done wrong or other members of the community complain about you.
- Keep the language PG-13.
- If your post is exceptionally long we may LJ cut it or request that you LJ cut it, please try and use common sense and LJ cut your post ahead of time if it seems long. As for pictures you may have one outside of the cut but the rest must be under cut. The one outside of the cut must be reasonable size, we will alert you if we feel it is not.
- Do not promote non-animal related communities here.
- Always check the memories section before asking a question. Though we don't terribly mind a repeated question (there may be new people in the community with new answers and information) please see if you can solve your dilemma with a memories post first.
- Please do not use large, tiny, or other colored text in your posts. Bold, underlined, and italics are fine to use.
- Do not mention PETA, people are far too divided on this and it would only cause drama.
- Try and stay on the topic of pet care. Pictures of pets are still welcome, but keep other posts to a minimum please.
- No disabling or deleting comments in your posts or deleting the entire post once comments have been made to it.
- Trolls will be banned without question.
- Use common sense, we are not vets and are not qualified to treat your animals over an internet connection (who is...?). If something isn't terribly urgent and you want advice fine, but do not come to us complaining that your pet broke it's leg and ask us what to do. Remember, "If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet!"
- Breeding: Questions regarding purposeful breeding are not allowed here. Do not ask us how to breed, how to care for a pregnant mom, or what to do with the care of the resulting litter if you have purposely bred your animals. Also do not advertise your litters! Cute baby pictures however are fine. However if you have ended up with a pregnant animal (for instance through rescue) you are allowed to ask questions. You will receive either direct answers or be pointed towards more helpful communities or websites. You may also contact an expert or member outside of the community, utilize the list of other helpful pet communities, or utilize the Helpful Pet Links list.
A list of helpful pet links can be found in the links section in the community layout.
