I need a beta

I've got two fics I'm working on that are very un-finished and I would rather like to have someone else read them and get some input because I am very dithering about where to take them.

1) a Jade/Guy piece set during the lull after defeating Van the first time. So far I've got about seven pages written, some vague ideas on where it's going, and lots of problems figuring out how much I should be in Guy's head and how much just describing actions as an outside observer.
Oh yeah, and also I have no plot. Not "plot what plot" as in porn, but as in "and then some stuff happens, and some other stuff happens, and some other stuff happens." I think there's the makings of a coherent story arc in there somewhere but it's kind of hiding.

2) The kink meme on estilix's journal... um... someone posted the prompt "Jade/Guy - one (or both!!) of them is a God-General" It kind of... inspired me. And now it's spiraling out of control and I've got this whole big idea AU in my head forming where Guy joined Van at the time of Luke/Asch's kidnapping and wound up being a God-General, and then he decides Van is crazy and starts feeding information to Jade. Of course, this would be tremendously plotty and I'm not so good with that, so I'm not sure if I'll write it. Except for the part where I have bits written already because they bit me.

So. Um. Anyone want to beta?

A/N: I've been sort of dead lately, forgive me. I decided that I needed to take a break from writing, so I haven't written anything since some time in June. You'll forgive me, won't you? Life got in the way, my plot bunnies weren't cooperating, I went on a long holiday and had no internet and was too busy to write anything on pen and paper. So sorry. But I'm back now, and I'll be writing plenty more! So enjoy this experiment of mine.
I need to finish up this claim soon...

Okay, it's high time somebody asked this question.

The infamous skit that is the namesake of this community. For you Japanese speakers out there (of which I am not one, woe), what exactly happened when Jade said 'kabu'? Did he literally nibble on Guy? (And if so, where? General consensus seems to be his ear but...)

And if he did, was there a particular reason? Teasing? Flustering? ~~The creators being secret Jade/Guy pervs?~~

Frankly, with such a blatantly gay hint, I'm surprised the Abyss fandom isn't teeming with Jade/Guy fangirls. o_0

Just curious, at any rate. =)

Hi folks. My first post here :) I just finished my first play-through of Tales of the Abyss, um, last night. Now it is eating my brain.
So here. Have some sillyness.

Title: First Kiss
Rating: Um... T/PG-13 for what's implied offscreen?
Spoilers: No serious spoilers.
Summary: Anise is worried that Guy's phobia means he might never have a first kiss.
Notes: Also posted on fanfic.net

"Aaah, get away!" Guy cringed away from Anise.
"But Guyyyyyy," Anise said, "You have to get over your phobia someday, and who better to help you than cute little me?"
"Gaaaah!"
"Aww, come on, Guy. Just one little kiss?" Anise batted her eyelashes.
"Now now, Anise, if you're not careful I think you might break him," Jade said as he approached them.
"But Jade," Anise said, "if Guy doesn't get over his phobia he could die without ever having had even a first kiss!"
"My, wouldn't that be a tragedy," Jade said.
"So you see, I have to do this. For his own good. You hold him still," Anise said.
"Don't you dare!" Guy said.
"I have a much better idea," Jade said.
"What would that be?" Guy said suspiciously as Jade approached him.
"This," Jade said brightly before taking Guy in his arms and, before Guy could react, kissing him. After a shocked moment, Guy responded rather enthusiastically. Mindful of Anise's presence, though, Jade withdrew after only a few moments. "See? First kiss, all taken care of."
"Jade, you are missing the point! Boo." said Anise, glaring at him. She kicked him in the shin and ran off to join the others.
Guy was still looking a little dazed. "Um..." he said.
"If that was unwelcome, I apologize. I'm afraid that was an opening I simply couldn't resist." Jade winced as he sat down on the ground to rub his newly injured leg.
Guy sat down next to Jade. "No, I, um, didn't mind. She didn't kick you too hard did she?"
"Compared to the way the local fauna have been treating us, I'd call that a gentle, affectionate tap. By the way, I assume that wasn't actually your first kiss?"
Guy laughed. "Not by a longshot. You're about six years too late for that."
"You hardly seem the celibate type. Anise's concern is truly touching, though," Jade said.
"Heh. I guess you could call it that." A delicate blush still remained on his face. "So... was that little stunt just to prove a point or...?"
Jade smirked. "Or?"

Some time later, after they'd dressed again and made themselves presentable, they wandered back to camp together, where Anise was attempting to teach Natalia to make edible food.
Natalia looked up at them. "Jade!" she said, her eyes wide. "Anise says that you just gave Guy his first kiss! Is that true?"
"Goodness gracious, Anise, have you been telling lies?" Jade said. "What a ridiculous notion."
"But I saw you do it!" Anise protested.
"I did nothing of the sort," Jade said.
"I think your imagination's running wild, Anise," Guy added. "I don't know what you think you saw, but Jade certainly didn't give me my first kiss."
"Shame on you, Anise, trying to trick Natalia again," Tear said.
"Well, now that that's cleared up, how about some dinner?" Jade said.
"I'll get you for this," Anise said to Jade.
Jade only smiled.

Notes: This was tough in places, because there were often handwritten kanji, and while the artist draws beautifully, their handwriting is less than spectacular. XD I did my best, though, and I'm pretty sure it all makes sense~

There is no real point to this fic; frankly, I just wanted to write a thoroughly pissed-off Jade, and to show that he does feel something about the whole replica situation. Guy just happens to bear witness for convenience; he's the only other Abyss character I have confidence writing.

A/N: Clearly I'm an idiot seeing as I completely forgot to post these... *head smacks hard into nearest solid object* My idiocy knows no bounds because I'm normally very prompt on posting my Jade/Guy stuff because I'm so anxious to share it with the other fans. *smacks head again* So anyways, here's two drabbles and a one-shot. The one-shot is sort of a continuance of Forgoing the Usual Antics, but you don't have to read it to get what is going on (I think).

Notes: I realize that admiral and colonel do not fit in the same rank hierarchy. I figured, though, if Jade can be a colonel and still command a ship like the Tartarus, maybe the Malkuth military just blends both army and navy. Thus, because he commands ships, Jade made Admiral rather than General.
Summary: Jade teaches Guy a lesson in prudent revenge.

Saying the Wrong Thing

Guy looked out one of the Tartarus’ port holes, and watched the waves crash into the side of the beaten up land ship. Absent mindedly he played with the hilt of his sword running his fingers down the leather covered metal. Deep in thought he didn’t notice as a tall figure crept behind him until his shadow loomed over the port hole.

Guy spun in his chair, but the surprise showed on his face only for a moment. He then smiled and greeted his companion. “Jade.”

Jade looked at Guy for only a moment and then as if to hide his expression pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. “You plan to leave us at Belkend.”

Guy blinked and looked at Jade in surprise. Then he remembered that Jade seemed to know every thing, and that surprise was the emotion Jade seemed to strive to pull out of people. Smiling sadly he asked. “How did you know?”

“Simple, you do not like Asch.” Jade answered. “The others seem to think that you are merely wary of him, and are too caught up with their own emotions to see beyond that.”

“Natalia is overjoyed to have the Luke of her childhood back.” Guy replied. “She tries to hide it, but I can see it in her eyes.”

Jade waked in front of Guy and looked out the port hole. “You are not Natalia.”

Guy laughed hollowly. “No I’m not, but she has waited for her Luke ever since the day he was kidnapped. She has waited for him to remember, and to magically turn in to the boy she knew. That boy is not the one I helped care for and raise. He is not the one who became my friend.”

Jade listened while watching the waves with a closed face, and could tell that much wasn’t said. Jade had his suspicions but wasn’t going to name them. He also had his opinions, but only gave one. “You are a skilled fighter, and we will miss having you in battle.”

“See that’s the thing.” Guy said bitterly while standing up. “To everyone I’m a servant, a solider, a resource to be used, but to Luke I’m a friend.”

Shock ran across Jades face, as he watched Guy leave the room.

Loyalty
“Stop fucking around with Luke.” Guy warned Jade at Daaht inn.

Turning an innocent expression toward Guy Jade asked. “What ever do you mean?”

“You know exactly what I mean.” Guy growled. “Every time he tries to do something right you tease him maliciously.”

“Really, you’re acting like Luke here is an innocent who should be protected.” Jade replied sarcastically. “You don’t really think that he really means what he has said about changing do you?”

“Yes I do.” Guy answered staring Jade right in the eyes. “And being put down every time he tries isn’t going to help. It will only make him believe he is even more hopeless.”

Jade accepted Guy’s stare for a minute, but quickly felt uncomfortable. Most wouldn’t dare try to stare Jade the Necromancer down and the rest would turn away at the eerie color of his eyes. Still Jade wasn’t to be beaten, and he pulled him self to his full height, and looked down the bridge of his nose as he replied. “Coddling the boy won’t help either. Surly you have realized what a spoiled child he is.”

“Yes I have, and I take full responsibility for it.” Guy said lifting his chin up challengingly. “I’m the one who taught him to talk and walk, and how to read and write. He is spoiled only because I let him get that way, and I’ll unspoil him if I have to. So if you’re going to pass your judgment, then pass it on me.”

Jade continued to try to stare down at Guy to pull the doubt to the fore front of Guy’s mind by sheer force of will, but when Jade realized it wasn’t going to happen he closed his eyes and sighed. Pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose he said. “You are aware that your loyalty is wasted on him.”

“I don’t think it is.” Guy replied.

“Of course you don’t. Why else would you be loyal?” Jade answered, and turned his back to Guy.

Looking at the arms folded behind his companion’s back Guy asked in a more subdued tone. “Would you please lay off Luke?”

“Well, if it means so much to you.” Jade said turning to Guy with a mischievous smile. “I’ll think about it.”

Over a Drink

“How long have you known who I was?” Guy asked Jade who sat with a drink in his hand at Grand Chokmah’s bar.

“Oh I’ve had my suspicions since we first met, but I wasn’t positive until you confessed your linage this afternoon.” Jade answered honestly, and brought his glass to his lips.

Guy sighed and sat at the bar stool next to Jade’s. Waving the bartender over, he ordered a drink. “I’m guessing it would be a waist of time if I asked how you figured it out.”

Jade seem to think for a moment, and answered. “It wasn’t one thing that gave you away if you were wondering. Things just didn’t add up with you. Well, that and you look just like your grandfather.”

With his sneaky smile Jade turned to see the surprise crawl on to Guy’s face.

“How did you…” Suddenly Guy rolled his eyes and took a drink. “Never mind you were childhood friends with Emperor Peony. You easily could have seen a portrait or something.”

“Or something.” Jade agreed, and purposely hid his growing grin with his glass to make it even more obvious that he was holding back his mirth.

Guy shook his head, and smiled broadly. After taking a pull from his drink he said. “I don’t think I’ll ever get you.”

“I would hope not.” Jade replied. “After all I wouldn’t want you to get board.”

Taking another sip Guy watched their reflections in the mirror across the bar. “Trust me, you never bore me, annoy, yes, but bore, never.”

Memories

Jade pushed in the enormous door to the chaple only enough to let himself in. In the middle of the chaple he saw Guy on one knee leaning on his sword, and walked up to him. “There is nothing I can do to help Anise’s mother so I thought I would come to see how you are doing.”

“I’m alright; after all I’m not the one who got hit by the Liger Queen.” Guy replied with a slight shake to his voice.

Jade walked up beside Guy and laid a hand on his shoulder. Giving it a firm squeeze Jade asked.

“Did you remember something?”

“I feel so guilty.” Guy answered, and clutched the hilt of his blade to his chest. “Mary and the maids protected me, and all I could remember was fear and the suffocating weight of their corpses.”

“Don’t be too hard on your self.” Jade replied gazing into the multicolored light from the stain glass window.

Sleepless Nights

“Did you sleep well last night?” Jade asked pleasantly, as he watched Guy sit across from him in the dinning room of Belkend’s inn.

Guy glanced across the table, to see Jade smiling his same empty smile. He was beginning to think he was getting the hang of Jade. “You saw me leave the inn last night.”

Jade nodded, and said. “I thought it was an odd hour to leave at that.”

“It’s not something you need to worry about. I declined his offer.” Guy assured as the inn keeper’s daughter sat a plate of eggs in front of Jade.

Jade tilted his head thoughtfully, and watched Guy order his breakfast while inching a way from the girl.

Answers
“That was quite a display at the peace treaty, Gailardia.” Jade commented as every one else dispersed through out Yulia City.

“I needed answers.” Guy replied. “I didn’t think I could get them any other way.”

Jade slide his hands into his pockets. “Did the answers satisfy you?”

“They disgust me.” Guy answered, with a sad smile. “But I at the same time I feel more at peace, like I can let mom and Mary rest now.”

“Hod was both Kimlasca’s and Malkuth’s greatest mistake.” Jade replied. “One can only hope that we have learned from it.”

Sobering

“You’re so quite when we visit Keterburg.” Guy said looking over at Jade.

Jade stopped staring off at the mountain and turned around to give Guy his attention. “Why do you say that?”

Guy shrugged, and said. “You always have something sharp and sarcastic to share, but here you just stare off and think.”

Jade then turned his gaze on Guy, before turning away.

Guy watched Jade for a while, and sighed. Turning away Guy began to walk away when Jade said. “This place is full of memories. Some are good, but most are full of mistakes I can’t ever fix. For me Keterburg is sobering.”

“We all have mistakes we can’t fix, Jade.” Guy replied turning to walk back to Jade. Setting his hand on Jade’s forearm Guy continued. “All we can do is learn from them, and to grow into better human beings.”

Old Friends

“Why do you hate Dist so much?” Guy asked Jade as they watched Luke and Anise pick Nephry balls.

“Hate is such a strong word.” Jade chided. “I merely do not enjoy his company.”

“You beat him black and blue for information.” Guy said. “You didn’t need to be that rough.”

Jade pushed his glasses up his nose. “Trust me on this Guy. He has done things to deserve it and more.”

Guy sighed and leaned over the observation rail. “Revenge isn’t as sweat as they say it is, and Dist really seems to like you.”

“If by like you mean obsessed.” Jade countered quickly.

“He really is a tender subject with you.” Guy said looking at Jade thoughtfully.

“Yes well some things are better left unsaid.” Jade replied and left the casino.

Come Home

Onboard the Albiore Guy watched the Absorption Gate disappear in the distance. With a wide grin Guy turned to Jade. “I can’t believe we did it.”

Jade chuckled. “Well to be honest neither can I. Van was a more formidable enemy than I even imagined.”

“Yeah he was.” Guy stared off for a moment, and added. “I’ve spared with him a couple of times, and they were nothing like the battle was.”

“Have you considered what you’re going to do now?” Jade asked looking at Guy with his curious grin.

“Hmm...” Guy held his chin, and closed his eyes. “Not really, I’ve been more concerned with surviving until the next day then my future.”

“I was wondering if you would come back to Grand Chokmah with me. I’m sure Emperor Peony wouldn’t mind your presence.” Jade suggested.

Guy looked Jade over for a second trying to figure out what private joke Jade was telling himself. When all he could see was sincerity Guy smiled and said. “I’ll think about it.”

The finals are coming! The finals are coming!

So yes, a quick post before I go AWOL for exam season. I wrote this piece about a week ago, and really, I was rather hesitant to post it. There's something about it that just...isn't right, somehow, though I can't for the life of me pinpoint what it is. To that extent, then, could I get some concrit, please? It's really bothering me that I can't figure out what's wrong with this story.

There's not much to say about the story itself, other than that the writing style is a little...odd. It's a bit more...I dunno, calculating than I'm really used to, but hey, trying new things here. I hope you enjoy, and good luck to all the others out there who are struggling through exams as well.

Rating: Actually, this story could have been rated entirely G, except for the short lime at the end which bumped it up to R. ^^;;

A/N: Haven't posed anything in forever; school caught up to me and I still haven't finished my Symphonia stuff. Plus my laptop's hard drive turned out to be defective, so I have to pay $75 (minimum) to recover stuff from it; all I'm recovering is my documents, as those are the most valuable. Here's a little something I wrote on what has to be a terrible computer. Done for 30_kisses. For this one, notice how many times the number ten comes up.

It's been a long time since I've written something even remotely NC-17 (almost a year now, I think), and really, my average for writing smutfics is probably around one every two or three years. So, um...consider yourselves lucky? Or not, depending on your viewpoint. ^^;;

The main reason I'm so reluctant to write smut is because I have no confidence in my ability to portray it. But yesterday, the stupid plot bunny just wouldn't go away. I'm sorry?

Concrit would be greatly appreciated--since I seldom post fics like this, I seldom get feedback for this type of writing, and I'd really like to improve. Thanks.

Instead, I'm here for two reasons. One, showing off my new icon ==>

Two, I'm in need of a Jade/Guy fix, and since I've pretty much exhausted the fanfiction, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some scanned doujinshi. Raw or scanlated, doesn't really matter. It helps with inspiration, and makes me an overall happy person. =)

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Oh and if you happen to know of any Jade/Guy fics that aren't on this community, would you be kind enough to link me? Perhaps I'm just not expanding far out enough yet...
