Looking for a lovely fine dining restaurant in Perth.

I had a booking at Cream in East Perth which they now have a function on that night and cannot accommodate.

My criteria is;

a) In the Victoria Park/Perth/East Perth/South Perth kind of area but within reasonable distance is okay
b) Must have some form of oysters
c) Not be Borsalino's, Cocos, Oyster Bar or Jacksons - while lovely previous anniversary dinners had there, we want something different!
d) Be a fine dining place

I am totally at a loss and it is for tomorrow night (Thursday) my ideas are things like Perugino's, Olive Tree, Opus but umm would like other suggestions.

Can anyone remind me what the name is of that really popular seafood shop (as in, buying to take home, not a seafood restaurant), in Innaloo?

It may actually be in Karrinyup or another bordering suburb, but I believe it has "Innaloo" in its name. It's been there for at least 15 years, I know that much. I've found the name "Innaloo Seafresh Fish Markets" online, but can't remember if that's the one.

I'm originally from Perth but posting from Melbourne and want to see if I can get a gift voucher or credit or something for my dad for Father's Day, 'cause I know he really likes that particular shop!

Howdy all...

Time has come once again for house hunting, or, well, room hunting - technically.

The rent here has been raised up far above what I believe is a reasonable price for a single room (I may as well go rent my own apartment for about 50 dollars more), so I'm up for looking around for a good sharehouse to settle into.

I'm immensely quiet, I don't have many people over, I'm an uber geek - so as such spend most of my time on the PC, and I'm a little bit of a photographer. As such, my only requirement, really, is a decent ADSL connection, so as to allow me to upload my photographs online.

I do have a car, so parking is a must, garage/carport preferred as my car isn't exactly "cheap" and I'd like to keep it in good condition.

I do temporary work, usually admin/reception/secretarial. Yes, there are times I'm not working. But I always pay rent, and can provide a few references to attest - such as my current housemate, and previous housemates here in Perth (I've only lived in two places, I don't house-jump, it's just that the rent here has been hiked up twice inside of about 4 months).

I don't take up much space, you won't see me moving into your living room, I just need a relatively decent sized bedroom for my computer, clothes (inbuilt cupboard pwease?) and bed. -- Mind you, I don't have my own bed, so if you have one in a spare room, thatd be awesome. If not, I'll buy one.

I'm a smoker, but very considerate, and will always smoke outside. I'm very clean, always tidy up after myself, and always do what's necessary around the house.

I'd rather my limit be around 100 dollars for just a single room really, but I suppose that can be flexible depending on the place and the total rent. No rip offs please.

I'd rather somewhere relatively close to public transport, as I do have a tendency to work in the CBD, but given that I have a car, I can be flexible on location. I just want good, honest, people to live with. Space is important to me too :)

I'm able to pay [insert amount of time/weeks here] worth of rent up front, a few weeks, a month, two months, whatever, to show you I'm a reliable tenant ;)

If you know anywhere, or have somewhere, give me a yell...

So... I was handed a brochure of a program to send knitted blankets overseas... made of knitted squares sewn together - a christian aid thing.

And I thought "how cool... but it's uber cold in Perth right now, and our own homeless could do with some warm stuffs"

So... in light of this revelation, and out of a desire to meet more knitting peoples... anyone out there who can help me out... with....

I know there's a 'stitch n bitch' on sometime - at a cafe in Mt Lawley - unfortunately I have many evening commitments already - but it would be good to know where/when and how long it runs - maybe I can cruise through.

AAAAnnnnd... all you crafters out there - with random half balls of wool or needles (I have the specs for 8ply, with US Size 8 needles, but meh - we can just gauge it up or down, make it random) or a desire to knit... want to set up a little short term project... donate your random leftovers, or your time, or both? Comment and I'll touch base with you :)
