OzShut Rollers
I had a really nasty experience last night.... and you know, word of mouth is the best form of advertising (or not) so thought I would share with you all!

Whilst I was off sick a couple of weeks ago, there was a knock at the door, and - a door salesman (damnit) he was fresh out of school, and looked so nervous, I reluctanly agreed to have one of the sales guys come around to give us a quote on getting roller shutters....... now - to cut a long story short.....

The night they were going to come around, they were running late, we were going out.. So they said they would reschedule...... - now I don't know why my OH even agreed to have them around, since we've decided to sell... but thats another story

Fast forward to last night........ Their salesman arrives.....

Talks SOOOOOOOO slowly............ blah blah blah for 45 mins.... THEN decides that he will measure the windows!!!! (hurah)
So quotes us..... works out our "discount"........ then starts the hard sell...... and I mean, really....... HARD....

So we say no.... no ... NO... NOOOOOOO.... we AREN'T committing to anything tonight...... we need to work out our budget.. blah blah blah......

So he says... ok.. I'll ring the boss.. see if he can give you a better price.....
Knocks another couple of hundred off.... great price...... but even if we WANTED the shutters... we would have wanted to think about it, and get other quotes...
Then continues to berrate us - trying to make us buy them....... no no NO NOOOO........
So rings his boss back....... WHILE he's sitting in front of us.....
"Nah.. they said no........ I dunno, they reckon they can afford it, but cant commit or something *huh* etc etc etc"

I was so fkin mad at this stage.

Then he just SLOWLY packs up.... saying nothing...... and gets up... "Cya"
and walks out...

No thanks..... no if you change your mind.. call us.. NOTHING...

Fkin rude prick...

So........ I've just called their head office and given them a piece of my mind... THEY are the ones who knocked on MY door asking if I wanted a NO OBLIGATION quote.......
And I get harrassed by this old codger.......... wtf....
and now I"m going to put something in writing.....

Definatley put me off buying from them... now or ever.....
Horrible experience...

Once again..........

OzShut Rollers........

BE WARNED!!!!!!

x-posted (sorry, gotta get the word out!!!)

Then if they DO manage to sell it to you, they'll plaster their name on the shutters as further advertising. :\

I get cold-called by them at least once a month, and I have been living in the same RENTAL for the past 5 years.

*BRRRING*

"Hi Mr Grudthak, this is a complimetnary call from Modern Roller Shutters about our..."

"We rent..."

"I'm sorry...?"

"This is a rental property, as I have told other operators many times before-hand"

"Oh right... Erm, you wouldnt have the number of the owner would you...?"

I'm pleased for you.. and I'm sure there are a lot of positive stories out there......

But you ended up getting the house done......... I wonder if it would have been a different tune if you had said no?

I was actually in the market for roller shutters otherwise WHY would I agree to let some stranger in to my house. As you stated in your story you reluctantly agree for them to come around.

Thats right.. for a QUOTE.......

Which is what they approached ME for.....
Not the opposite....

I'm not disputing that you had a good experience..... I just don't see why you want to discount mine?

My experience with them was the opposite I had a really good experience and ended up doing my whole house. Very polite and respectful.I would recommend OZ SHUT to all my family and friends. The salesman who sold them to me even followed up with us after the shutters were installed.Would highly recommend this salesman to anyone.

i agree with you lusha_1, horrible experience for sure!

I applied for a job at OZSHUT and worked there for just under 2 weeks a few months ago and it is the worst job that i have ever had.

They made me knock doors all day and the pay was only $100 per WEEK. To get that i had to attend work for all 5 days and if i had 1 day off (which i did to take my mum to the hospital) they didnt just dock that days pay off the total, no, they didnt pay me ANYTHING! Apparently in the contract that i signed in very very fine print it says this but hey they gave it to me and i had to sign it on the spot. If i got a sale then they would pay me $100 for my effort but let me say that a sale is as rare as a blue moon.

They are really really strict like they have heaps of security cameras in the place and if i talked to a call centre person i would be asked all questions from my manager about what i was talking about and what we were saying and then to top it all off i got in SO much trouble for chatting with the receptionist every morning when i came in and that was the last straw, i quitted!

I cant beleive how bad it is and i hope i never come across a company like that again!!
