So seeing as I've been lurking for well over a month now, I guess it's time to jump on the current bandwagon and post an introduction for those who didn't meet me briefly at Muchi's a while back. (Short-ish girl, quite-ish, dark hair?) I've known Muchi since she was 15.. that means I'm in, right? ;)

My current fursona is a white kitty, black markings, green tipped wings, name of Oomad, she's been with me for nearly four years now (a purple/green hippie bunny I'd had since I was 13 preceded her), but after some serious life-altering events recently, I find myself relating less and less to her, so a re-vamp is def. needed sometime soon.

In brief; I'm a little on the short side, talkative once I shake of the shyness, v. affectionate, caring, vegan, lesbian, an aspiring artist (studying at TAFE), and love meeting new/seeing friends.

After meeting a few of you a while back at Muchi's, I'd love to get to know everyone a bit more. You guys were great :)

Well don't want to seem like a lurker so um, - hey all!

So about me - well I'm more of a Neko than a furry but I'm sliding towards being a furry - though I'm a bit bit behind the ball in where to start, I guess I thought I was on my own here! Anyway I'd like to meet the team - I've already met someone at Supanova (sorry I forgot your name) and chatted to Mel from FA (which is down at the moment or I'd point you all towards my furry art) who pointed me here. So yeah I'm hoping to meet more of you - but maybe I need a 'guide' so I don't feel like a noob here - any volunteers lol! Anyway I guess I just want people around who aren't judgemental about having a furry fascination.

Other than that I'm a 30-something computer tech, WoW fanatic and comic artist. I have a colourful history let's just leave it at that. And obviously - I'm pretty open minded about... stuff!

I'm working on the whole fursona thing - I'd go with fox, that suits my personality best... despite the fact I'm a catgirl fancier (or maybe because?)... something like 'Sirius' or 'Silus' for a name... not sure - maybe some pics will help.

Hey guys. Sorry if introductions aren't apropriate, but I've had my eye on this community for a while and only just decided to join and post now.

I'm an anthro artist (doing art full-time at the moment) living in Geraldton. Perth furs was the closest I could find furs near me. I've heard of two Geraldton furs but I haven't been able to get in contact with them sadly.

I'm not really very furry, but I still love the community and it's members more than any other art/creative scenes I've come across or been involved in. I do sort of have a character, Hemorrhage, who's a goat/ram/demon.... THING that I guess counts as an avatar (not really a 'fursona' as such though).
Art's my main contribution to the fandom, as I said before. Generous commissions from many in the fandom have really helped support me as well as freelance work. I've very recently been preparing to dabble into the world of fursuit crafting too.

Anyway, hi guys. I hope maybe some time I'll be able to make it to one of your meets or such if I'm ever down there.

Delayed Housewarming

I've been living in my new place with my fiancee for a while now & we figure its time we have a proper housewarming.

While surfing the net in search of LOLZ and general kitsune-related images to draw fursuit ideas from, I found myself in Wikipedia. As if the 'Kitsune' article was funny enough, there was a link within it which lead to what's known as 'Clinical Lycantropy'. Upon reading this particular article, I realised I had found the LOLZ I was surfing for.

The opening paragraph is one of the best I have ever read. However, it means that we may never be fully accepted, except by mental institutes. We're just the sort of people they're looking for.

     I hope no one minds me posting this here. If there is an issue i will delete it.

     I would like possibly to get together in the city with any buddy willing for a night on the town. To go to bar/bars and have just a good time.... My partner is currently away in his home country with parents that treat him horridly and i am highly stressed, i feel this would be a good opportunity to get my mind off things for a while

     Place: any suggestions for bars?

     Time and date : what is convenient the most for the majority of you? sometime next week preferably.

MiDfur Planning Night - 20th June

There will be a planning night held on 20th June (Friday Night) at JM's place, for those who are interested in going to either MiDfur and/or the MiDfur Convoy from Perth to Melbourne.

I respectfully request that perthfurs do not attend this meet if they have no intention of going to MiDfur to avoid sidetracking.

(If you plan on saving up for MiDfur, I suggest you start doing so NOW. For example, to save up $1000 by MiDfur, you would need to put aside $50 for it each week from now on. DON'T wait until the week before and then suddenly realise you can't afford it!)

17/6/08 - 2am
As I tried to sleep tonight I would close my eyes but I could not find peace. All I could think about was what I have written over these past few days, every little remark and reply and they would not let me go.
I came to realise just what it is I was doing, that I have started something with a good intent and yet a bad way. I have not only began this terribly but have allowed it to snowball into something which I had never intended. I have became nasty and berated those who I would call my friends even if they have not thought of me as such. When I joined this community I have witnessed such beautiful acts of kindness and in turn such showings of affection that have moved me in ways I had never thought possible. In this instance I chose to come to the aid of one of our number but have gone about it so wrong, so very wrong as to become one of those things I thought I could help in this community.

I know it doesn't mean much now after the words, and even less considering what I have done......but I wish to publically apologize to both Jack and Muchi for the things I have said and done these past days.
I do not expect forgiveness from either of you, I don't deserve it because of this...disgusting thing I have perpetrated. All I can hope for from both of you is that you will atleast allow me to start again and talk this out as I should have done to begin with.

I hope that you will allow an emotional tiger his one slip of temper. I wait on your reply, I sincerely hope that you aren't so disgusted with me that it will not be possible.

New rule for the perthfurs LJ community: Be polite to others, or you're banned. (And no Drama!)

If you don't like it, make your own LJ community. I hate the idea of imposing moderation on others and do not plan to do any more than I consider absolutely necessary, But I'd sooner delete this community entirely than allow the sort of unsightly behaviour I've seen recently.

You don't need to like each other and you don't have to allow and random furs to come to you meets or any such things. But this is a public community forum for ALL furries in perth. It's not some place where you can develop your own street gang and bully people you don't like into leavening. It's a simple matter of talking politely or not saying anything at all.

This decision is final. And will not be reversed. It was not a personal decision; I've gotten a thumbs up from 10 or so furs. (I even had one person call me up at work asking me to do something)

If you completely don't understand this or you want to bitch and moan and argue about it, fell free to IM me personally, or even call my mobile.

Now I'll say it again I'm not going to moderate/ban unless I think it absolutely necessary and I will not ban without discussing privately with others. A few tips/possible exceptions though.
-Keep the posts squeaky clean. If you have to screen comments then the post is unacceptable. Remember I can see and un-screen comments.
-No bitching about Nathan. Because we're all fucking sick of hearing it. Keep it to your own Journals or make your own community.
-If you're a host, consider politely telling people you object to, that they are not allowed at your house. I've done it, it works.
-Don't post large meets in a public place if you're banning specific people. Post it on your own journal or a private community.
-Please tell me, if YOU think moderation is required on a particular comment/post/person.

Edit/additional: -"RSVP ONLY" Or similar will be acceptable in a post I guess. Then if they comment you can politely reply in a comment that they will not be welcome. Do this ONLY if it's your house. Seriously don't push this though. If you feel the need to do more then bloody well post it on your own LJ or make your own community.
-No long winded apologies.
-No linking to other posts that are not acceptable in perthfurs.

If I ever find that you have made such a comment against ANY perthfur again I will personally see to it that you get what you deserve, and I daresay there will be many others that would help me do it. You do NOT disparage anyone from attending a meet that you are not even hosting, nor even if you are you do not do it in a public forum. I believe that people are still very much under the assumption that I'm doing this for nathan. I am not, and to be honest I'd still be giving a crap if this was done to one of our newer furs or someone from the "old crew" or to anyone in this community, and do you want to know why? Because deep down inside I seem to have this little thing called a concience, and this thing in my head called a brain and the two of them right now are going "well shit this looks like someone has done something very nasty." So for those of you who just absolutely LOVE to make all the little niggles we poor mortal furries have with certain people, all about Nathan then I suggest you start to rethink your attitude because to be quite frank the universe's problems aren't always layable at the door of one person simply because you wish it were so.

FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE GATHERING

For those who can make it, I'm holding a Friday 13th movie night at my place this Friday. This is a combination Friday 13th thing, and a moving-out party as I'm moving out of my house on Saturday. I realize my place can be a little far to get to, so heres the plan.

We all meet up in Borders, the same as the last two times, between 6:15PM and 6:30PM on Friday 13th. We can all leave for my place around 7:00PM or so, so people without personal transport can car-pool with others. OR, there is a bus that goes directly to my place, leaving the Esplanade Bus Station at 7:15PM exactly, stand B5, number 299 or 799.

Address is 167 Kalamunda Road, Kalamunda. (map) (I know, posting my address online, but if someone turns up and nobody knows them, they will be turned away)

Movies planned are the Alien series, plus whatever else others want. Have a collection of a few movies here, or we can rent, all is good.

Plenty of seating is available, we have a dedicated cinema room with four double couches, three of which are fold-out beds. Also, if any people want to stay the night, that's OK too, just bring a pillow and blanket/doona because it gets cold here. Might even fire up the spa if people show interest.

Aside from crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women, the answer is simple: giving Rev money!

I have a brand new and sealed copy of the new Funcom MMORPG Age of Conan for sale. A result of slow eBay sellers and my own impatience. Only had one owner, who only ever drove it round the corner to the shops.

I can say first hand that the game is pretty good. A combat system that's more than just click-and-watch, pretty, shiny visuals, beautiful music and fun classes and areas. Seems to have a more mature crowd online than certain other MMOs I could mention, at least on the server I'm on.

And boobies, for those interested in such things.

I'm looking for about $60-70 for it (that's less than retail, yo!) Let me know if you're interested.

Midfur Road Trip

Hi everyone

Midfur is six months away. It's time to start thinking about who is going to be joining the Perthfur road convoy. Here are the dates:

Friday morning December 5 - leave Perth
Friday morning December 12 - arrive Melbourne (via Sydney & Canberra)

Tuesday morning December 16 - leave Melbourne
Sunday afternoon December 21 - arrive Perth (via Adelaide)

We will only be travelling by daylight, staying at campsites at night. Campsites are about $20 a night the whole way. Budget for 8,500km of fuel.

Expect temperatures of 30-35 degC with rain a possibility.

bastett and I will be on motorcycles. I'm looking for a car that has enough room to carry my horse costume.

At the moment, we're picking up anfael and Riv in Sydney, and atpaw in Woollongong. We will undoubtedly add a few Sydney and Canberra furs - and maybe the SAfurs on the return journey - as the trip grows closer.

K, there is some stuff I've been hording for years, and 90% of its been thrown out, however there is one or two boxes of stuff I'd like to see go to a good home before it ends up on the curb.

GONE! If your interested in flying, or learning to fly I gots a lot of books, charts, magazines etc... I'd be a shame to see them wet on the street, all FREE!

GONE! Electronics fans, I've got a box full of Silicon Chip magazines etc, all the way back from the 1980's if your a collector of such things, thats all free too. pitty to see a collector go without while they get rained on. Free!

And me thinks thats all of it.
