• This is a community for live journal users to vote upon whether or not a film should be considered a masterpiece or not. You can submit any film that you want, it's up to the members of the community to decide whether or not the film deserves to be known as a masterpiece...


• Remember that each movie should be judged upon it's own merits, and not in comparison to other films of the same or different genres...The Godfather is no Independence Day and vice versa


• Voting for any certain film will be open for two weeks. After that time no votes will be considered.


• You tired of people telling you what movies are the masterpieces? Well have your say here.


• This is not a review site.


• The only rule is that you have to have seen the movie. Hence the two week voting period, giving you ample time to get to the rental store to pick up a copy.


• If you haven't seen the movie, then don't vote please. It's as simple as that.


• Films still in theaters, and not available on Region 1 DVD (US & CANADA) will not be eligible for consideration.


• Please list the starring actors, director and screenwriter...this info is @ www.imdb.com


• Whenever possible, provide the link to the film's page on www.imdb.com


• Mention any major awards the film won, or provide a link to the awards page for the film on www.imdb.com


• Have Fun! This is for the people by the people. I the moderator the_fatalist will screen all submitted films. If I haven't heard of the film (obscure Mongolian films etc) then I probably won't let it be voted upon. Keep it to films that anyone can probably get readily.


• As you can tell The Internet Movie Database is being heavily dropped in these quick rules. Please use it!!!


• If a film is tied at the end of the two weeks, the mod will break the tie
