Boy friends versus Boyfriends. [18 Jul 2008|11:29pm]

damnke3
God forbid I have any good guy friends anymore.

I'm not sure what it is about me, but really, am I not deserving of some good guy FRIENDS?

At this point I'm not looking for anything more than friends. I just miss having some solid, reliable Y chromosomes in my life. But the ones who used to be close to me are all just acting like I don't exist or my company is simply a convenience.

It's ridiculous and I want to punch them in the face. Damn it.

Hi Friendlist. Especially those in Israel.

Can someone please explain to me, in simple language, what I need in order for my laptop, printer/scanner and other high end electronics to work?

We are also planning to but a decent monitor that will double function as a tv screen. What o I need to know when looking for one?

Ok, freaking out less now.

Did some work, so at least I had some time when I was not thinking about the stressful stuff.  Actually, it is quite a challenging piece I am working on, so I had fun working out some of the technical details.  I think I need to remember to do some "real" work during all this so I can relax and do what I enjoy.

Jason has his resume done and it is now winging its way to some people who said they might be able to help.  Please God this will work out, because I will feel a hell of a lot better knowing we have some sort of income once we get there (man will it be a long few few weeks until my tools come though!

Anyone in ISrael want a copy to pass around?

Haha. I just spent 2 hours looking through old entries. [16 Jul 2008|12:11am]

I was reading my old journal entries about when I worked at the geri-psych hell-hole (where I was making GOOD money). I had forgotten that some of that shit happened.

In fact, I forget a lot of things. I'm really starting to wonder if I don't have the early signs of Alzheimers or something. I don't know what it is, but sometimes i forget WORDS. Scary....

Anyway, not much is going on here. I have to work Wed, Thurs and Friday and then again on Sunday. My sister, Lisa, and her hubby and two of my nephews come down this Saturday. I'm really, REALLY looking forward to this. In fact, it's the ONLY thing I have coming up that I'm looking forward to.

I want to go out of town so bad. Vacation. None of that until October, though. Back to Illinois for Pike County Color Drive.

Anyway, ya'll leave me some love.

flutes, knife and server! [15 Jul 2008|04:53pm]

I am messing around with decorating my knife&server, and flutes. what do you think? are they bows too cheesy? I used the Frankenstein and bride of Frankenstein pins because my fiance has several Frankenstein items and I thought it would be cute. any suggestions?! the next things i need to tackle are the unity candle and possibly decorating the aisle runner.

Ok, I'm nuts....or hormonal....or just hard up. [14 Jul 2008|08:45pm]

Ok. I'm in love with my DVR. One of my favorite things in the world is to DVR some of my favorite shows and settle down in my happy chair and watch. I can barely watch "normal" tv anymore, because I want to fast-forward through all of the commercials.

Anyway, I also love reality tv. Real life stuff. I've really gotten into the TruTV show called "Black Gold." I guess you can say that I love shows about REAL men, hard working guys (that's why I love Deadliest Catch...yum, Crosby!). I don't know what it is lately, but I want my men dirty and sweaty and working hard.

Ok, that's not just all, but I have this thing for one of the drillers on the show. He's totally NOT the type of guy I would ever typically be attracted to (except for his age....I like older men for some strange reason), but there is something about him that makes him so likeable (maybe he's nice, and not a jerk?!?!).

Be prepared.

Ya'll Wayne is so cute. OMG. Plus he curses WAY too much

(Someone let me know if you can see that pic)

(and, damnit, watching Jon and Kate Plus 8 still makes me want to have children)

One of those things... [14 Jul 2008|03:30pm]

auryn24
You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their lives, and all of a sudden you think, "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers, putting yours in their places, and then post the result in your journal. Please elaborate on the questions which would benefit from elaboration! One-word-answers seldom help anyone out.

My vacation [14 Jul 2008|09:54am]

happyduck1979
Loosley cross posted to my other blog, but they eac hhave different details.

Last week my mom, my sister and I went away for a 3 day "girls mid-week weekend to Montreal. We took the train in, stayed at a hotel, went out to eat, and shopped like mad. Ok, not exactly like mad as none of us really have too much money to blow, but certainly at least like somewhat-crazy.

I went shopping and got some gorgeous new stuff. Shopping with my sister always pushes my limits and makes me move out of my normal comfort zones clothing wise- not that I eve regret it after because she really does know what she is talking about. She convinced me into a green shirt (I never wear green) that gets compliments left right and centre.

I also got a neat dress (made out of bamboo!), a really funky black and white knee length print skirt, a few layering tanks in black and white and some headbands (and socks because I forgot to pack any).  (Thank you mommy).

Then came the big step off the weekend. I chopped off my hair.

When I say chopped I mean it. I cut off almost 10 inches. It went from the middle of my back to the nape of my neck in the back and to my jaw bone in the front. I still cover the whole top so nothing much changed up there, but I think the rest of the change is actually rather dramatic. I was really nervous about the whole thing, but actually I really love it.

The whole thing was very "What not to Wear" -like, but it was a good thing.

Other than that, we went to Old Montreal and went on a horse and buggy ride (seriously, if you are in Montreal go and do it. It was my favourite part of the trip. We went at sundown so we started it was still lights, but as we went on all the buildings started lighting up and it looked like something out of a fairytale! My sister and I got henna tattoos and all in all we had a really great time.

I have to add that we had some of the best food ever. El Moroco and Morty's were hands down two of the best places I have ever eaten. Seriously, steak to die for!

The only downer blip was that I slept on the floor for the 3 nights.  I had planned to share a bed with my mom, but no one told me that apparently when she goes to sleep she turns into an octopus.  Oh well, he floor was not too bad.
