Penpals - snailmail and oddness

Penpals… to be quite honest I like them for two reasons, primarily because it feels so good to lose yourself in another’s world and secondly because I love receiving post! I have to admit, it’s been a long time since I exchanged correspondence with someone I’ve never met but the idea has become constantly more appealing to me over the last few months so I thought I’d start looking for someone who would be interested in exchanging letters and finding out more about one another…

I’m looking to correspond with someone preferably over the age of 21, male or female, who can hold a conversation and is willing to read/write quite a bit (I do tend to write alot – I think this post will prove this!!). Other than that someone with similar interests to me and possibly someone with a few quirks or oddities would be great to talk to.

A little about me, I’m 22, born and brought up in London, well travelled and now living in Cambridge, UK. My friends know me as Za and I’m currently studying towards a Law (LLB) degree. I work in admin and freelance photography. Photography, music, reading, gigs, films and various other random collecting bits and bobs are things I enjoy doing. Definitely random and weird, with a fully dysfunctional life but that’s the way things are.

I’m currently re reading Rebecca (Daphne Du Maurier) and am about to start delving further into the world of Iain M Banks. The last film I watched at home was Sympathy for Mr Vengeance (first in the Korean Vengeance Trilogy) and the last film I watched in the cinema was Sweeney Todd, though I want to be a bit of a kid and watch National Treasure at some point soon! Band/Musician of the moment has to be At the Drive In and Miles Davis and the last band I saw live were the F*&k Buttons.

I’m an avid follower of Aberdeen in the Scottish league (football) and the Ducks in Ice Hockey. Keenly following the rugby, hoping Scotland pull up their socks and manage to get stuck into this 6 Nations.

I love travelling, though at the moment travelling too far abroad is limited by the size of my overdraft I am looking forward to a few camping/hiking holidays around the UK, especially around the mountainous regions. Not only will it keep me in shape but it’ll be a nice ‘get back to nature’ experience which I miss!

Right, I shan’t waffle on for much longer, but I shall conclude by saying I do have an inflatable penguin – noooo not for anything like that – he is my muse and I seem to have misplaced his trilby so I should try to find it, that or buy him a new one… I look forward to hearing from you and perhaps this will be the start of a long and potentially very enjoyable friendship!

Well what to say? I'm looking for a few people or just one who wants to write letters.

My thought process is this: I hate talking about myself in letters despite journal entries. Which yes, they are long, detailed rants about my day to day existance. Sorry for the morbid note. I just have the worst stomach ache. Anyhow.
Letters will be in the form of journal entries and:
YES you will be confused and thrown off track and
YES your mind may get warped in the process of the letter.
However you choose to write me is your decision. Journal entries, diatroves of blumber..shrug.

I don't have an age limit...except I would like you to be 18 or older. Oh you know..someday you'll understand kids. Heh. I don't care what gender you considder yourself to be. I don't mind either way, sometimes it makes for an interesting guess.

Why do I want a pen pal? Someone to write to and vent at. Well, get the brunt end of my sanity. And some things just can't be said in the distance of ear range. Hi, I'm Sam. I've yet to find my defining moment. I'm very much involved with music and photography. I appreciate understanding, passionate, and honest people. Hello, all. My name is Sam. I'm 18, and am trying to find my defining moment. I'm an education and photo major. I'm pr'simple; I like music, movies, photography, video games, books, friends, etc. I've been told I have a "bro personality". I appreciate open-minded, creative, passionate, and understanding people. I enjoy saving money, and movies that make me squirm. I want to spend my summers snowboarding in Utah. I love watching hockey, playing cards, watchin' 'Scrubs', and reading Chuck Palahniuk books. I also love Guitar Hero, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I was born and raised in Germany, but currently reside in good ol' Florida. By the time I was in the fourth grade, I had been in 6 different schools. I love listening, debating, and conversing. I read and comment all the time, and would love more who do the same.

Hi everyone!

I didn't like the default form and I hope no one minds. I am a 22 year old law student from New York with an overactive imagination. I would like to correspond with an international pen pal - preferably at my age or older - all other specifics are not relevant to me. I love philosophy, plays, reading, films, museums and music. I think a lot but I'm attuned to the bright side of life and constantly seek excitement in everything.

I am originally from Moldova and English is my third language. I'm interested in all kinds of culture, food, and the circulation of ideas and experiences.
