8:01 am - Dermatologist- Bethlehem/Allentown/Easton area?

krisssa
Hello!

I'm looking for a good dermatologist (and by 'good' I mean someone who seems to have time to answer your questions, cares about the problem, thinks outside the box) in or around Bethlehem, Allentown, Easton, Nazareth... that area.

Any suggestions?

11:27 am - Hi there!

kissed_n_broken
Hi. I am 21 years old , married, and a mother of a 3 month old. I live in Central Pa. More specifically Lancaster County. I am looking for other young mom's to form some new friendsips and possibly get our children together if they are the same ages. Right now I am not working, which is proving to be harder then we thought ;(

Also I am selling 144 Size 1 diapers. Anyone in need?
-Yes I have them on Craigslist though a lot of the people on there seem to be pretty shady and I am trying to get rid of them ASAP!

7:33 pm - camping areas?

amarook
 Hello all,

We typically go camping in the Allegheny National Forest, or when a 4X4 is available to use we sometimes go to a remote spot by the Yough River.

I am posting to inquire if anyone knows of any other places to rough camp that are similar to these areas within 2 hours of Pittsburgh? Basically, remote and free. We don't like "campground" type camping.

We would like to try to find some where different to go.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

4:54 pm - PA Questions!

aching_world
Here I am again... still thinking about moving to the York or Lancaster area. Was wondering where else I could look for jobs besides craigslist ... as well as apartments as craigslist seems to be lacking in both areas. I also would like any advice as to what areas to stay away from for living and working I guess!

My biggest fear about moving is not knowing anyone or having any friends in the area, so I'm trying to convince a friend of mine to move with me, but we'll see!

Thanks a bunch!

Hey!
I recently temporarily moved to Minneapolis from Philadelphia and one thing I have been really missing is Yuengling beer. Does anyone know of anywhere online I can buy it or would someone be willing to buy and ship it to me if I pay you?

starswolf
So I am moving to Reading (or near) and I am trying to figure out what cell phone company to go with. The consensus seems to be that the best coverage is AT&T or T-Mobile. Does anyone here have a thought on this matter?

Anyone on here near Reading?

11:59 am - voting registration by mail - 3/24 postmark okay

dabroots
LATER NOTE: I've learned that you can still mail in voter registration but it MUST get postmarked no later than Monday, March 24th, so make a point of mailing your registration from a post office, NOT simply dropping it into a mailbox. See http://www.dos.state.pa.us/voting/cwp/view.asp?a=1192&q=442984

10:50 am - how to get registered to vote by next monday afternoon

dabroots
LATER NOTE: I've learned that you can still mail in voter registration but it MUST get postmarked no later than Monday, March 24th, so make a point of mailing your registration from a post office, NOT simply dropping it into a mailbox.

I posted here a couple of days ago about this coming Monday, March 24th, being the deadline to register to vote in Pennsylvania's April 22nd primary. What I didn't tell you is how you can go about getting registered.

Here are a couple of options.

(1) On Monday, go to the Voter Registration/Elections office in your county. Click County Contact Persons
Elections/Voter Registration
for addresses and phone numbers for each county. If you have any doubt about whether you're registered, or whether you're registered as either a Democrat or Republican (and you must be registered as one or the other to vote in the primary, with Democrats able to vote only for Democrats and Republicans only for Republicans), check in with your county office.

(2) There are voter registration efforts going on over this holiday weekend. If you come across someone registering voters in your area, they should be able to take care of you and they will be turning in registration forms to county offices on Monday. The Obama 2008 offices in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Doylestown will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today (Saturday) and Sunday for voter registration, and you can register at those offices also on Monday probably until early afternoon. For the Obama office addresses, click here. It's possible that Clinton and McCain have offices registering people this weekend, too, and I encourage you to post information about their locations.

9:45 am - voter registration deadline - next monday

dabroots
Deadline for voter registration is next Monday, March 24th.

At least if you want to vote in the April 22nd primary.

And remember that if you want to vote for a Democrat, you must be registered as a Democrat. If you want to vote for a Republican, you must be registered as a Republican. If you're registered as an Independent, you can't vote for anyone in the primary.

Spread the word!

9:02 pm - Question and More Questions!

aching_world
Hello Everyone... After browsing around it seems that everyone here is nice, so that's great! Hopefully someone can help me!

Brand New is playing at Dickinson College NEXT weekend. Online ticket sales are sold out and you can only get them at the Box Office (student or non). Unfortunately my friend and I don't live in PA. I'm five hours away in Rochester and he's 2 or so hours away in Alexandria, VA.

They won't sell me tickets over the phone to pick up at will call and our only hope is someone who's going/at the college. We'd be getting a hotel for friday and saturday night. (Concert is March 29th). Someone on facebook did respond and say they would help but I have not heard from them yet and am getting worried because I was told it would sell out. Anyone here going? Can go to the box office and we can figure out how to exchange 2 tix for money? (their stupid box office is only open 11-1) UGH!

My other question is!... In six months or so I plan on moving out of NYS. My friend is from York and I've visited twice and was in Lancaster for a concert and I do like the area. Currently I have an office position at a Motorcycle shop and like the Admin. Assistant route. I would have to find a job before moving so I guess my questions are... Is it hard to be able to find a job before moving? Hard to find roommates/good housing before moving?.. and making friends... I'm shy and will probably use the internet probably, but like I said everyone seems nice!

I guess any and all information would be great. And I can use these six months to start making friends once I have where I'm going to move all set!

thanks a bunch!

2:01 pm - voter registration deadline

dabroots
Remember that if you want to vote in the April 22nd presidential primary, you must be registered by Monday, March 24th. And because it's a "closed" primary, you must be registered as a Democrat to vote for a Democratic candidate, and you must be registered as a Republican to vote for a Republican candidate, and anyone registered as Independent will simply not be able to vote for either party.

If you like, you can print out a voter registration form by clicking here. To find the address in your county for mailing it in, click here.

LATER NOTE: I didn't register by this method myself, but someone who did print out a registration form tells me that you're given the option to submit it online, also. My thought is that it wouldn't hurt to double up and make sure it gets into the system, in other words going ahead and mailing in the hard copy. This same person also tells me that the linked website isn't especially fond of Firefox as a browser, so you should probably access it through Explorer.
