2:35p LBP Party!
I'm going to throw a LittleBigPlanet party at my house Wednesday the 22nd. We'll make sackfolk and download goofy levels, and play the game 4-player, the way it was meant to be played.

9:27a Perfect timing.
Last night I finally tapped into my "fun money" reserve and bought Wipeout HD.
A decade of Wipeout games and they're still as faithful and engaging as the last. I know HD is meant to be a rehash of the older tracks and stuff made pretty, but still. I'm sure this is what Matt was talking about when he said if you're gonna bring something back for nostalgia, make it good all the way around. Because it feels like a new game, but the track layouts are just familiar. There's even some tracks from Wipeout Pure, I didn't expect that.
I tried the online play. After getting whooped on some new tracks, I managed to pull in 2nd for a couple races. I'll probably race online more once my skills are back.
Ah. This is why I wanted a PS3.

9:54p Fallcon recap
So, I'm back from a weekend of doing the whole comic convention thing, and it was fantastic. If you stopped by and visited with me at my table, thanks for coming! If you didn't, just take that same comment and make it totally sarcastic.
Aside from Aric and the occasional visits from Farron, I had Zach ( joeandmonkey) and Paul Taylor ( pablowapsi) to keep me company. I don't really know what else to say, other than I had some of those great moments where I laughed until I couldn't see, drew art in people's sketchbooks, talked shop and slop with anyone who stopped by, threw balled up pieces of paper at people I thought were weird and generally felt that sizzle of being in the comic scene again. I got that buzz from the people standing around watching my comic slideshow on the monitor, chuckling and nudging their spouses, or when someone bursts out "Hey Ted, check out this funny one!" when flipping through our gallery.
The choice moment was when a spunky little 8-year-old kid was flipping through the book and had this blank expression as if he saw pictures, but couldn't figure out what was going on. Aric, being the gentleman he is, engages the little sport and asks him if he likes it. The boy keeps pacing through the comics until it all snaps together and he goes "Oh, they're stuck there?" and when Aric confirmed, the kid looks back at the page. "Oh. If I were there, I would KILL MYSELF." And Aric just drops his jaw. The kid keeps on reading, repeating the declaration as he reads along aloud.
I figure this'll be the first con of many. I know I have a kid coming in my life, and between work and karate I don't have a whole lot of spare time, but when I figure out a plan I'll try to pick up the pace with Blank It. I just don't want to burn out. Still, it's going good right now. So... here's to finishing up tomorrow's strip so Beldin can stop hitting the refresh button. Nootch.

As I could be biased by post-completion high and an unbalanced caffeine-to-sleep-ratio, I am cautious to say that I think Mass Effect is the best game I've ever played; but just so we're clear, I think Mass Effect is the best game I've ever played.

1:52a Lyrics Meme
Let it not be said that I do not like fun! Step 1: Put your mp3 player on random. Step 2: Post the first line from the first 40 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. (caveat: I have skipped songs with no or unintelligible lyrics, they would kind of spoil the fun) Step 3: Let everyone guess what song and artist the lines come from. Step 4: Bold the songs when someone guesses correctly. ( List! )
