Notes: mushroom18 wanted to know what the rest of Sandford thinks. I promised a snippet. This is more like a collection of snippets all strung together. There are a few voices missing, like Walker and the Turners, but I'm about to leave for a long weekend in Stratford-Upon-Avon and my brain's quickly shutting down. I hope I've included a varied enough sampling! I tried to push a bit outside of Sandford, even.

Title: To Say Nothing of the Dog
Fandom: Star Trek: Reboot
Chars./Pairing: Scotty, Ensemble Cast, some pairing-up going on at the edges (Kirk/Spock, etc.)
Rating: PG-13
Notes: After the unexpected success of Killing Time, it occurs to me that Scotty is a fairly good subject for exploration (seeing as there is, relatively speaking, so little fic being written for him). And everybody knows I'm a sucker for the lost, lonely, and neglected. So, you can look at this as a sort of related piece/follow-up to Killing Time. It's certainly in the same direct continuum, where my development of Scotty is concerned. I'm also beginning to play with some other points of view here; the objective of this piece is to find out how the rest of the crew is adapting to him.
Summary: There are some things it's best not to mention.

I hope it's okay to re-post it here (please do let me know if I'm out of order doing so - and if I am then I sincerely apologise - but I thought that Simon would want his message posted to his fans before the newspapers go mental with it) ...

Hello all,

As some of you may have heard, due to The Daily Mail's kind and considerate decision to run a story despite over hearing me express a desire to keep things hush hush, Maureen and I are going to have a baby. We're trying to do it as quietly and privately as possible although perhaps a scoop was to be expected, seeing as we were out at the Brits last night (last one for a while). The place was of course full of journalists, a few of whom are our friends. I notice the piece in the Mail is written by an undisclosed 'reporter'. Guess I'm still naive after all these years.

I just wanted to let you guys know and to ask you not to worry about sending us gifts. In the past, many of you have been very generous with birthday and Christmas pressies. Fact is, we're running out of room and our house is about to get a whole lot smaller. If you do feel the urge to bestow a trifle, I have recently started to work with Nordorff-Robbins Music Therapy. It's an amazing organization that seeks to help children suffering from severe illnesses and conditions such as autism, to reconnect with the world through music. Music therapy is a remarkable technique which is benefitting more and more people, as the organization grows. Go check out the website
here and if you did feel like giving baby Pegg a gift, a donation to the charity would be lovely. I'm sure most of you weren't planning on cracking out the knitting needles but go check out the site nonetheless. It's fascinating and genuinely heartwarming stuff. Music therapy really does work.

Notes: This fine mess is a long time coming. My headspace is multi-trauma central right now, so my hope is that combining my two biggest comfort-fandoms will bring some relief. Special thanks to squeeful, miss_morland, and annlarimer for being particularly evil enablers. Not that I need much enabling.
Summary: The Lower Tadfield Police Station needs inspecting. Any questions?

Notes: There's a sliver of lost time between Nicholas and Danny leaving the Romeo & Juliet venue's pub and when we see Nicholas awakened by (presumably) Fisher's phonecall in his hotel room. Thinking about that led to an isolated snippet that, once I'd written it down, seemed like a good starting-point for a slightly longer piece. Enter sleeplessness, wine-imbibing, and a stroll down memory lane with some of the Bard's other classics - and, if necessary, reinterpretations thereof. Voilà. My apologies to Dire Straits, to whom, unlike HF's fearless director, I cannot afford to pay royalties for making use of lyrics from their "Romeo and Juliet."
Summary: An homage to what proper action is - or isn't - about.
