why do I get the feeling that Pastis was inspired by those annoying planters commercials where the guys debated whether or not to feed a squirrel/badger/skunk/I don't completely remember the commercials so I'm making up this list of animals ..?

Or maybe I've just been too commercialized at a young age.

You haven't seen squirrels until you've seen the massive red squirrles at the University of Michigan - around the library, they will take food out of your hand, one even bit me when I was pretending to have a peanut - it didn't break the skin though, so I was fine.

really? wow, that is so awesome. I once got to see a small hawk eating a pidgeon. Some squirrels were hovering around, very afraid, it was a totally awesome sight
