I wasn't aware you were supposed to write to the tooth fairy. I just put the tooth under my pillow and somehow she knew.

In my kids case, it was better that they wrote a note to the tooth fairy as well, otherwise, she forgot.

The Tooth Fairy always forgot when I was a kid, until I went crying to my parents and they would come "help me look" and whaddaya know, a dollar suddenly appeared under my pillow! =O

My kids ask me to send an email to the tooth fairy. How times have changed.

I'm surprised the Tooth Fairy isn't on Twitter -

When I was a kid, Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy were just media creations. If I got a quarter for my tooth or a present under the tree, my folks (who worked hard for the money) never fudged the point as to where the gift came from. From time to time I wonder if I missed out on something in my childhood by not believing in the jolly elf or the tooth-collecting sprite. Anyhoo, I never spoiled the myth for other kids because I didn't know that I was be raised any differently. It was a non-issue.

yeah me too - i enjoyed gifts more knowing who they were from. Thats why gifts are enjoyable to give and get and i think santa etc sort of detract from that. Oh well, if it makes people happy...

I don't know if all that magical thinking is so good--not that you shouldn't have some magic in your life---Like the mystery of creation and the wide open ocean.
