Our friends, our families, and anyone interested in the veteran's perspective on issues related to war, peace, and in particular, the current "War on Terra" and Gulf War II is welcome to join in. No, war is not Hell. War is worse than Hell. Common Themes: News and Current Events Peace Tactics Veterans' Issues Personal Stories About the founder, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} pdx42:pdx42 is no pacifist, but believes the present war on Iraq to be flat out wrong (for reasons to be revealed in the unfolding posts of this community), and that the "War on Terra(tm)" is being mishandled, serving primarily as a distraction for the public mind, vis a vis perpetual war.In the words of the founder: I founded this community because one day I clicked on "veteran" in my Interests list to see who else on LJ has "veteran" listed. There were four communities and 41 users. All four of the communities were pro-war, and the several users that I checked out were also rather hawkish. I was surprised. Am I the only veteran on LiveJournal who does not support this war? I doubt it. I'm probably just the only peacenik who lists "veteran" in his interests. So I tried to find a community for peace-minded veterans, or simply veterans who are against the current use and abuse of the military. None was to be found.
