dental clearance
Hey Everyone!

Okay. OMS requested a letter from my orthopedist about a chronic knee problem (which thankfully hasn't been a problem in over a year) and I mailed that in last Thursday. Let the waiting begin, all over again!

I also had my entire dental packet returned to me, requesting both of my wisdom teeth removed. The letter with the dental packet said that my placement and invitation would not be held up by this, but of course I'm paranoid. Did anyone else receive their invitation before they had re-submitted their dental?

I've already been invited and I'm not dentally cleared yet.

You don't have to have your dental clearance finalized until something like 30 days before your actual departure. I was invited in Jan '03, had all four wisdom teeth surgically removed two months later in March, and left for Romania in June. Don't sweat it.

You can be invited without dental clearance. Though I'd start working on it now as you have to be cleared 30 days before departure.
I too had to submit an orthopedic evaluation for a knee condition (prior dislocation) and I eventually got cleared so hopefully you'll have the same luck!
