Life-drawing aficionados in (or near) Portland, mark your calendars: I will be modeling for the open life drawing session at Lorna Nakell's DayJob Studio this coming Tuesday, July 3. I went last night to draw (and guest-model a bit) and she has a nice little space with a good vibe (forgive me, I'm from California) and I said I'd spread the word. Below is the invite she sent out for last night's session, which featured Molly (of whom pictures will appear on flickr soonish).

I prefer a fit woman with a healthy portion of life experience, great stories to tell, and a generous share of self-confidence. Modeling experience is NOT a requirement -- but patience and a bit of athleticism is. Non-erotic, casual, open nudity on the part of the artists and the model is expected.

As of May 16th, Hipbone Studio moved to a new studio that is ideally suited for our purposes. There are many potential, creative possibilities for both visual and performing artists. These are the specifics:
The Studio: large, warehouse-style space, 1600+ sq. ft. (old studio, 730 sq. ft.) Open, rectangular, hardwood floor, 34'x49', 12 ft. ceiling, vaulting to 18 ft. to accommodate the northern skylights. Ground level.
Location: Ideal, 6 blocks from the old studio at 1847 E. Burnside (north side), #104. Entry is from the free-parking lot on the west side of the building. Enter parking lot from 18th Ave. The #19 and #20 busses stop at 18th Ave.

Za (use the ahh sound for her Vietnemese name) Graduated from Kansis City University in Illustration and went on to do clean up animation and lead animation work for Walt Disney Florida Feature Animation for 10 years!(see resume' below). She is currently teaching at Art Institute of Portland.
