So I noticed this community here and thought I;d give it a kick in the side...this is a NON-gem:
Pattie's Home Plate Perhaps it's possible to get something decent to eat/drink here, but I won't be back.
-burger came with relish, when I asked for no relish
-burger was sopping wet, it continued to drain..oil? water? until I gave up on eating it
-fries? odd waffle-cut things, no flavor
-coffee? no refills offered
-N ordered chicken strips, only recieved 2 when the menu mentioned 3
-waitress offered ranch for strips, n asked for BBQ, waitress said there was no bqq and brought out a stingy amount of tartar sauce
-service? our "waitress" looked and acted 15
-when our food came, some of N's fries fell into the container of creams. waitress said "oops, there's your fry!"
-atmosphere?- the child coworkers were arguing, even calling each other "snot" (family-run business anyone?) while 2 songs came loudly on the jukebox
-after we gave up eating, somebody hollered from somewhere asking if we needed anything else.
-oh and...yeah, there's a jumble of crap for sale in the back half. not even interesting crap...just crap.

I'll begin by bragging about my favorite local video store Trilogy! They have the best variety without the attitude you get at Movie Madness. They go out of their way to get every version of a movie possible, including the 8 hour Swedish television version of Fanny & Alexander directed by Ingmar Bergman. Sometimes they even take $$ off my late fees if they like what I rented! They are located at 2325 NW Thurman Street, which is next door to Portland's best and only authentic french boulangerie, St. Honore. You must try the pain au raisin and the fromage tart.
