Hey PATD LJ-ers!

I just wanted to share my story of meeting Panic for the first time at their concert this Wednesday past in Perth, Western Australia.

It's a pretty snazzy story, and there is are some rather um...unique drawings from the band members themselves involved, plus pictures I took during their set :D

I am part of The Academy Is... fanclub so I didn't know I would be meeting Panic. But when Zack (or is it Zach?) saw there were only about ten people for the TAI... meet and greet he said we could do the Panic meet and greet too! Thanks for that one Zack :]

Here is what went down (or something like it anyway my mind was a tad frazzled at this point):

Me: "Hey Jon. Sorry I only have this dodgy piece of orange paper to sign but I didn't know I was going to meet you guys as I'm with SLH!"

Jon: (laughs at me and starts to draw something on my piece of paper. He draws a random monster that looks like a carved pumpkin from Halloween and hands it to Spencer)

Me: (laughing) "thanks. Hey Spencer"

Spencer: "Hey there" (smiles and starts to draw a basketball)

Me: "Is that a tennis ball?"

Spencer: "Nooo it's a basketball!"

Me: (laughing with embarassment) "ohhh umm I don't really play any sports I got a bit confused. I only do dancing"

Jon: "Dancing is a sport!" (lol thanks Jon)

(Spencer hands sheet to Brendon who is laughing at Spencer's and Jon's drawings)

Me: "Hi Brendon!"

Brendon: "Heyyyy" (grins) "I'll draw an orange" (hands it to Ryan)

Me: "Wow your artistic talents are truly amazing guys"

Ryan: (smiling, draws a carrot and signs it)

Me: "aahaha a carrot! Thanks so much Ryan! Bye!"

My friend and I stood there admiring our signed bits of paper as waited to have a photo with them, and when it was our turn I stood in between Brendon and Ryan and held up the piece of paper they drew on. Brendon laughed at this. He pretty much laughs at everything and seemed to be in a really good mood that night. They were all so sweet and I'm so happy I got to meet them!

The concert afterwards was incredible. They sound absolutely wonderful live, and since seeing them live two years ago in Sydney I think they have found a lot more confidence in performing as as band. I love how all the songs they played from AFYCSO had more of a classic rock feel as well. Overall I had such an awesome night I don't think I could ever forget it :D

So this girl in Norway got these videoes about her life, kind of like a video blog. She's a little famous... At least on the Internet (and in Norway). We saw her a couple of times at Hove... and then yesterday, my friend told me that she had met our favorite boys.

its obvious right now this is where the party starts with you and me all alone.

im not sure how many of the songs on "welcome to the new administration". will end up on the new fob record. my guess is less than expected. not just to make it more special. but simply because we feel like that was a snapshot of where we were and some were actually the weaker songs.

a couple of facts about 60XXX:

1. catch me if you can/proclamation of emaciation is actually a pre-mix. it is based off of one of our favorite new gym class heroes songs. we remixed it and added a bit of our own thing. so look for the official version on "the quilt".

2. gabe claims "i kissed a boy" is based on a true story, i was there. i plead the fifth but i cant wait to see the video for the song.

3. no one really knows the identity of all the members of the paul revere jumpsuit apparatus or what their current status is.

4. "i got a pocket full of deadliness. opium den mother, forget my head. at the deadend of unsteadiness. boxed blondes have less fun. fun. boomerang my head back to the city i grew up in again and again..."

5. there is more. not less to reveal.

its just a FAD.
