Melbourne Show 23rd August
Ah hello wonderful patd comm. i have a question to ask of you all ^-^
I'm going to the Panic show on the 23rd at Rod Laver, and i was wondering if i'm sneaky and can get away with bringing my camera in, would they take it from me if i'm in the pit or not?
Cause i kinda don't want to lose my cam. (:

just sneak it in.
once youre in the actual pit, security doesnt seem to mind.
and anyways, the no camera rule is pretty dumb because of camera phones.

Rod Laver does a metal detector-wand-thingo at the gates so even concealed it's going to set off that.

When I went to Rod Laver Arena for a MCR concert, they were very strict, I wasn't allowed to bring in my point and shoot camera (I had to leave it in the cloak-room booth for $2) and they also checked ppls bags and you had to walk through a metal detector. Also, you weren't allowed to even wear studded belts :(

I went to MCR at RLA and i wore my studded belt... even though i held up about 20 people by setting off the metal detector hahaa.

the venue probably doesn't even care, most venues say you can't bring cameras but once you get there they won't do anything if they see one in your bag. stick it in your bra if you're scared they'll take it.

usually when signs say 'no cameras' they mean professional cameras only. digital is fine.

if you're really scared... my friend once took a deck of cards, and put her camera inside the card box.
it fit perfectly, and the security just thought it was a deck of cards that we were playing with to pass time before the show. it's kinda clever...

This was Vodafone Arena (or whatever it's called these days), and I put my camera in a pocket in my bag, and then I shoved all these pads around it. Lmao, as if someone was going to move those.

But then my friend started taking photos in the pit, and a security guy reached over and nearly grabbed it off her. :/

Hopefully, RLA isnt as strict as VA.

They probably won't mind....i am hoping they won't! I want some of my own pictures of the gorgeous band
I will be there in the pit, august the 23rd. You will know its me, because i will be the one holding the "Ryan Ross take your shirt off" sign (hopefully they won't take that off me hehehe)

About the whole professional camera thing, it won't hold out for long. Phones with cameras > 8 mP are coming out soon. hehe suck on that crappy venue rules.

Just letting you know, RLA is strict with cameras (at MCR they had metal detector wands). But arrive before the arena actually opens and you should be fine getting it in because they normally let the rush of crazies in first without checking.

Once inside and in the pit, they don't seem to mind too much. I've had security offer to take photos for me before, but that was years ago.

I also guess it depends on the show. I've been to things where they didn't bother checking at all (a million flashes going off every two seconds was marvelous, let me tell you) and as I mentioned before MCR - ridiculous.
