Oh No!

Hey everyone. I got my Paste Magazine issue for March, and pulled out the sampler... and discovered a HUGE crack in the CD!!! I am so sad. It looks like I am unable to import 6 of the songs onto my computer. Can anyone provide me with those songs?

This is sampler #40, and I need songs 10-15.

Thank you!!

ETA: Looks like it ruined song 9 too.... boo. :)

Backissues

Does anyone know why there aren't any recent backissues for sale on pastemagazine.com? Like from 2007? Also does anyone know if there is a detailed listing anywhere of each issue? thanks!

Paste Sampler #33

I just got the special 5th Anniversary issue in the mail today. Apparently they switched from plastic cd sleeves to paper cd sleeves. Well, the irony is that my issue had neither one. I've got the magazine but no sampler cd. Can someone who got it please upload it for me?

Thanks!

So I finally broke down and subscribed to the magazine rather than buying it at the newsstand. The problem is that I am not sure if I will get the recent Beck issue or if I'll get the next one. I don't want to buy it and then have it come in the mail the next day. Can somebody import the cd and upload it for me? That way I can just read the Beck issue at the newsstand and if it comes to my mailbox the next day, it won't be a big deal.

Thanks in advance!

Hey! Does anyone have back issues of Paste they could sell me? Maybe you have a few issues that you have doubles of? I'm in love with this magazine! The issues that I already have, that I DON'T need are : 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 . Any other issues would be awesome! Please e-mail me at cursivesmuse@gmail.com. thanks

The new issue of Paste is out. The Flaming Lips are on the cover. I didn't even realize it was out yet! My roommate saw it on the newsstand, and there were only two copies left, so he picked it up for me. This month has a DVD with lots of great videos.

Hey all, I just joined, and I thought I'd introduce myself. :)

I obviously love this mag quite a bit; a good friend of mine pretty much introduced me to "indie music" and started giving me his old issues. Now I have a subscription of my own, and it's definitely one of the best resources I know of to find talented new artists.

So, just out of curiosity, who are some of your favorite artists/bands?

I have too much to mention, but here are a few: Sufjan Stevens, Jack Johnson, Rilo Kiley, Fiona Apple, Bright Eyes, and Seu Jorge.

That's all from moi. :)

A Welcome Distraction...

Lots of people are taking finals, writing papers, and finishing out the fall semester. What have you been listening to while doing those things? What keeps you sane, pumps you up, or mellows you out lately? Personally, I've had in constant rotation:

Denison Witmer
Ashton Allen
Leonard Cohen
Carole King
Mazzy Star

So, favs off this issue?

I'm going with Imogen Heap. Downloaded her album almost immediately.

+ Which artist hasn't been featured on the sampler but you think should be?

My vote goes to Eastmountainsouth. who I think fits in perfectly with the magazine's style, but I don't think I've ever read about them there.

On the inside back cover of the latest issue there is an ad for the Ashton Allen cd. I listened to a few song clips on iTunes and I really liked what I heard. Does anyone have the full album and can say if it's worth buying or not?

help please!! *edited*

been a huge paste fan for about a year now. pour through every page and listen to the cds obsessively when they come in.

problem: the little 3-yr-old i take care of accidentally spilled my cd box out of the car, onto the pavement, where she promptly stepped on cds to get others picked up. sadly, #14, #15, #16 and #17 got badly scratched.

if anyone is willing to make a duplicate of these issue cds, i would be more than happy to paypal them shipping costs plus a few bucks for their time. not askin for anything fancy, just a blank cd with the tunes (and maybe the issue number written on for clarity).

just reply with a way to contact you (AIM, Yahoo, e-mail, etc) and i'll get you my address.

much obliged!!!
carlie

The new issue of Paste was at Barnes and Noble today. It seems like the last issue just came out! Anyway, the lovely Fiona Apple graced the cover of this issue. Time to import the sampler cd into iTunes and chill for the night.
