past_lessons is a community for those actively seeking to uncover their past lives and learn from them.

People who would enjoy

past_lessons:

accept the possibility of reincarnation (even if they are a bit skeptical about it).
already have experience recovering their memories or have unknowingly uncovered memories and are seeking ways to expand their knowledge.
are open minded and mature when discussing viewpoints that might differ from their own personal spiritual and political beliefs.
accept that someone, somewhere, must have been Cleopatra. ;)
recognize that every experience is different and will not be judgemental of others.
want to help others on their paths, as well as learn from others themselves.

You would not enjoy being a member of

past_lessons if you:

find the notion of pastlives silly, a thing to be mocked.
like to engage in hurtful and abusive behavior toward others.
wish only to boast about your past incarnations and not contribute to discussion when the topic is not you.
wish to argue the validity of past life claims.
have no desire to learn new ways of thinking.
have little to no experience with past life research/regression.
desire easy answers.
do not wish to learn anything about your current incarnation through the lessons of your past lives.

It cannot be stated enough that abuse cannot be tolerated in this community, which is why submissions are moderated, as is membership. When considering membership, a moderator will look at the applicant's userinfo. If any of the interests listed indicate abuse (and there are people who put "flaming" down as an interest), membership will be rejected.

New members are encouraged to fill out the following new member survey (all questions are optional):
1. Name
2. Age/Birthday
3. Location
4. Do you have a theory pertaining to past lives you'd like share?
5. What is your method (if any) of recovering past life memories?
6. Do you explore any other "new age" concepts (ex. divination, herbology, aura-reading, etc.)?
7. What is your current goal in your past life research?
8. Finally, give us one pet peeve you have regarding other people's perceptions of past lives.

As this is a *very* new community, I will work in the next few weeks to make a FAQ with basic answers for people who are new to the idea of past lives, so as to avoid answering the biweekly, "How do I find out who I was in a past life" question that pops up on so many other communities.

If you're already well on your path and seek a more "advanced" type of community, this will (hopefully) be the place for you!
