I vaguely remember this being discussed before, but because I only vaguely remember it and I can't find it in the backpages, I'm going to ask again.

Ariel's sisters.

I've always ~~believed~~ thought that the order in which they're introduced in the movie was the order of their ages, with Aquata being the eldest and Ariel the youngest. The official comics* may or may not be canon, but they use that arrangement as well, which I reckon has influenced the way I think.

To those who disagree, can you please explain why? Is there something in the series, the Broadway show or the Kingdom Hearts games that says otherwise?

*Not the Disney Princess comics. Those can't even get their names right.

Hi, this is a continued post of my previous cel collection. For some reason I couldn't edit the earlier post so I had to do a new one to add more images. Anyway.. here's more of my cel collection.. enjoy!

*For the benefit of those who do not know what cels are,
Original Production Cels are painted images on transparent clear laminates created by Disney Studios in the making of the film. Thet are placed over a background, and then photographed to make the movie. U can freeze frame your DVD player to see when a particular cel appears.

Original Production Cel, Disney seal on the left. This is from the Under The Sea sequence when Ariel squirms around the seahorses. I love how colorful this is! Its a 3-cel set up, Ariel on the bottom cel, seahorses on the 2nd, and the special effects bubble cel on the top. Matted but not framed. I'm running out of wall space! =(

Original Production cel with animation pegholes. Poor Ariel finds out that Eric is marry Vanessa!

ok.. i'm moving on to Thumblina now.

My favorite Thumbelina cel! I love how there is another fairy prince and princess between Thumbelina and Cornelius at the background! Original Production cel, framed and signed by Don Bluth.

Key Master set up, (meaning Original cel on Original Watercolor background). "oh, the sun!" Thumblina finally sees the sun after being kept so long in the dark.

I have been dying to have a cel of Thumbelina and Cornelius from their wedding scene so badly because I love the white poofy gown so much and I think they look awesome on their wedding! Cels from the wedding are a little harder to find because scene appears on screen for only.. the last 5 minutes of the whole movie? When I saw this at an Los Angeles art gallery I was like I-GOTTA-HAVE-IT!
Original Production cel on Production background. This is a 5 layered cel-setup, Thumbelina on one cel, Cornelius and 1 of the bugs on 2nd, the poofy sides of gown on 3rd, the remaining 2 bugs on the 4th, and the special waterfall effects are on the last. From the Private collection of Don Bluth and Gary Goldman.

Moving on to Swan Princess now.. to all Swan Princess fans.. I really hope you enjoy looking at my cel collection! =D

Original Production cel of Odette and Derek as kids. I was really happy to have found this - cels of Odette and Derek as kids are really rare -the kids scene only last for a mere 3 mins onscreen? I purchased this from Steven E Gordon, the lead animator on (according to IMDB) The Swan Princess (1994) (animation director) (animator: "Prince Derek", "Young Derek and Odette", "The Hag" and "Horses") (character designer) (key animator: "Bromley") (supervising animator: "Princess Odette", "Rothbart", "The Swan" and "Young Bromley").
He kindly signed this for me, and it was also earlier signed by Richard Rich, the producer of SP. I hope to find cels of Odette and Derek in their teenage years one day. I like it when Odette was wearing the purple gown and braided hair! *wishes hard for the cel*

Odette looks so pretty even though when she's sad! Love the way her dress falls nicely on the horse- thats a really feminine way of riding a horse. Her hair looks a little like the horse's tail and mane, no? =)

Ahoy there!

I havent posted on here before, I'm mostly just a lurker who comments every so often...but I just couldn't contain my excitment at finally finding this lovely LM item!

Isn't she cute? I was down in London last weekend and there she was, sitting all alone the last Ariel...I think it was fate that I had to bring her home! I really was beginning to think that an Ariel plushie didn't exsits as all the other Princesses were always there in stores and online.

Not yet anyway, once the collection gets huge, my mother may have a few words on the matter...=P

I've never noticed it, everythme I go to check I'm already into the film and I forget!

I loved it! It'll never be as good as the first, but I really enjoyed it!

I'm really excited for Ariels mum and her and her sisters in mini form...they look so adorable!

Here are all the Disney plushies that live on my bed. I've got loads more Winnie the Pooh characters, but they all on my bookshelf and that would have taken an age to get them down....=p My friend Kate got me the PotC cushion and Simba I've had since the movie came out. My Granda bought him for me at a car boot sale for like £4, I was the happiest kid ever cus my Mum had said he was too expensive in the shops! =D

Here's the soundtracks I've tracked down so far, took me FOREVER to get Beauty and Beast, damn you Disney for going all Limited Edition on us!

I can't remember where I bought these, random playing cards...All the Princesses expect Mulan, with Tinkerbell and Maleficent thrown in for good measure!

I do love eBay, got the skirt on there...handmade!

And this bag was an eBay purchase! I love Ariels expression....=D

More eBaynesss! Pin Badges...I think the one with Buss and Zurg is my favourite...Also two little pendants of Cinders and Belle =)

I love my friend Kate, she always buys me the best pressies...For Easter she got me this cutie little bucket...=) I bought the stationary stuff at my local Tesco...At first glance I thought the rubber/eraser was Vanessa, I nerlly peed my pants...But I think its just Aurora...*sighs*

Then theres Jack, another friend of mines spent far too much on me for my Christmas and got me this talking Jack Sparrow firgure...Hes hot....=D

And finally, if I havent sicken you enough yet....theres this book I've had since I was tiny. I have a few other big ones...Aladdin, Pocahontas, Snow White and Prince and the Pauper - didn't want to bombard the page with those pics, unlesss anyone really wants to see them...

I also have a big collection of small Disney hardbacks, with loads of random stories as well as the classics...God bless my Mum for sending away for them when I was a kid...=D

Little Mermaid cel collection

Hi! I recently came across this lovely community while I was googling for Ariel cels and I came across a post here with some lovely TLM art. I'll thought I'll post some of my cel collection to share with all the Ariel fans! =)

This is a color model cel of Ariel and Eric kissing. I got this off eBay. I sent the cel to a friend of mine who was an ex-Disney artist who recreated the sparkles on Ariel's dress on a seperate cel. This is how the cel looks like when placed on top on each other.

This is a original production cel of Ariel placed on a copy background. Got this from a gallery. I love the radiant expression of Ariel!

This is one of my favorite TLM cels EVER!! I really love Ariel's sisters, they have so much personality! This is the perfect screen capture with almost all of her sisters and of cuz the great King Triton! This is a multi-cel set up, with the sisters on separate cels, King Triton on another, and the special effects of the bubbles on another. This was already elborately framed when I bought it. =D

Acutually, when It was on, I thought I'd imagine dit because it only played a bit in Canadian airwaves, but thanks to Youtube, I watched a few parts. Unfortunately, i found that Ariel was portrayed a little spoiled.

EDIT: So, I went back and saw felt color things (the things where you color all the spaces that aren't felt-covered...), markers, and a tin pencil holder! I got the tin pencil holder because it's awesome. Also, TLM baby socks. How awesome? Very!

Hello friends! I was recently at my local Target, shopping in the $1 section that most stores have out in the front... guess what I spotted?!

The Little Mermaid press-on nails, lipgloss, sticker books, tiny dry-erase board, and a little purse thing.

All for young girls, but I picked up some stickers, unabashedly. I don't know if all the Targets have it, but it was a really interesting find.

Our roleplay and plotline was based upon the amazing Disney Theme Park night spectacular, Fantasmic!, which performs nightly at Disney's Hollywood Studios Orlando and Disneyland California theme parks. We have used this plot here, only in a slightly differed form. In this roleplay, it is the evil who has come up with this scheme to put everyone into a deep sleep, where their dreams can be controlled and turned into dangerous and tormenting nightmares. And thus, everyone falls asleep...and they can dream almost anything possible. They can end up in strange and mysterious locations with no real explaination needed...

Or they can even imagine that the dead have rejoined them in the land of the living.

Fantasmic is a Disney RPG set to include Disney characters and worlds from all across the years, from Cinderella to Giselle, Jack Sparrow to Mary Poppins. Leading or supporting, big or small, all are welcome in this plot. Characters will be given ways to travel between worlds to interact with different characters in new locations. Anything can happen, leave it to your imagination!

(I deleted the old ad as it was out-of-date, and am reposting this. We are currently in search of new Ariel applicants, as ours went inactive. So please, check us out and join in on the fun! We're looking for most of the TLM characters still, only Eric, Arista and Melody are taken thus far!)

My first time colorizing someone as a statue, so I'm quite pleased. I'm sure I'll get better.. if ever I attempt to draw another statue?

Why?: She was outspoken, independent, fearless and a bit of an outsider.

What's your favorite scene and why?: The Part of your World scene because it was such a beautiful song and because it seem to express a feeling that I myself felt.

Favorite Song?: Poor Unfortunate Souls. This is weird because I love Part of Your World so much but it doesn’t invoke the same feeling to me without the animation. But Poor Unfortunate Souls is great no matter how you get it.

Favorite Lyric?: “Never underestimate the importance of Body Language”

Favorite Line?: Teenagers, Give them an inch they swim a mile. I thought this was the funniest thing when I first saw the movie and it’s always stuck with me. Sebastian just completely made this line memorable.

Have you ever dressed up as one of the characters for Halloween?: No, I love the movie so much I never felt like could do it justice. I think I wanted to be friends with Ariel more than I wanted to be her. If I was to be a Disney Heroine I think it would be Belle. But The Little Mermaid is still my favorite Disney movie with Beauty and The Beast 2^nd.

Does anyone else in your life share your passion or are you on your own?: On my own and often mocked because of it.

Do/Did you have your own collectibles (snow globes etc.)?: I have one snow globe which is actually Ariel and Friends in her cave and the actual snow globe part is the Dancing couple music box/mobile? that she spins in her cave. The snow globe is also a music box that you wind up and the couple spins and it plays Under the Sea. That is the only big thing I still have. I do have various coffee cups and art work but I gave away all my Little Mermaid toys which I now kind of regret.

What are your thoughts on TLM II? I liked it, and I was surprised because I’m usually disappointed in Disney sequels. The only thing I didn't like was Morgana, Ursella was a interesting character and a great villain. Morgana was just weak.

Hello, Ive never posted here before but I thought I might share the following article. It's not really about Ariel or The Little Mermaid but I thought I might get people's opionion on the Jack Sparrow/Ariel pairing. Although Prince Eric will always be my first choice but just for fun.spygirl690 sent me this cool article about an ex-Jack Sparrow from the Disneyland Park. There are a lot of funny bits in there and I have to say given the chance I'd probably want to work as a character in Disney too. I would just have to completely ignore the fact that I can't act don't look like any character that I would want to play and am completely unable t put about with corporate upper management bullshit. I would get in an argument and tell off boss than end up fired in under a month. Believe my I know it's happen before numerous times. The part in this article where Jack Sparrow dates Ariel is just the cutest thing and I can't believe I never thought of it before.
