Happy Bird Day, Alida! Today you are ONE! HOORAY, big girl!!
Lets take a look back at this happy year
I can say lots of words now, like "Alida", "Step up for me!", "Step up pretty girl!", "What?", "Uh oh!", "Hiiiii!", "It's time to get up!", but my FAVORITE words are "HELLO!" and "Step up!". I like to say my favorite words in all different pitches and tones of voice. I also like to make monkey noises and whistle.

Hey everyone,
I just thought I would post some pictures of the new cage (everyones favorite!) and I wanted to show off our new toys from Birdybooty.com
To anyone who is looking for awesome toys made specifically to cater to your birds likes and dislikes PLEASE do yourself and your bird(s) a favor and give birdybooty.com a try. I had heard wonderful things but only now got around to trying them out and I must say I am extremely happy with what we got. They make the toys specially for your bird based on your birds personality, likes and dislikes and they do a great job of interpretting your info about your bird into really beautiful and creative toys (all kinds too, swings, foraging toys, foot toys etc.) And no, I don't work for them! haha!

| IT'S TIKI TIME!! |

I believe it's been about 3 weeks now since we've gotten my green-cheek conure, Tiki, an I just have to say, this has had to of been the funnest 3 weeks I've had in a LONG time. Never in my life have I owned an animal that is so human like in their actions, holds so much personality, intelligence, and is just so FUN!! Hanging out with Tiki is like the equivalent of hanging out with another person! He wants to include himself in EVERYTHING I do, and if he can't, he get's pissed! XD Everything I do, he's curious about and has a drive to want to actually know what it is I'm doing exactly. Example, he'll be sitting on my shoulder, watching me type, when suddenly, he'll climb down my arm onto the key board and start pecking at the keys, or he'll climb down my arm to watch me wipe something off the table. If I'm eating or drinking something, he HAS to have some of it, and will throw a tantrum if he can't have any (Note: I would never give him something I wasn't sure of or wasn't okay for him). If we're up late watching a movie or making lots of noise, and he's trying to sleep, he'll start growling angrily over in his cage for us to shut up XD He's extremely lovable and has to be with me whenever i'm home. My boyfriend will be holding him when I come home from work and as soon as Tiki sees me, he'll fly from my boyfriend, all the way across the room sometimes, onto me, and start "quacking", preening my hair and rubbing his head against me like a cat XD He's awesome! Like seriously! I had NO idea birds were this great! I'm so happy we decided to get him! 8D |

| Yay, we have sun lamp! |

Oh man, out of the 5 Avian Sun lamps that Pisces had, we got the defective one! This time I checked it and it had threading on both ends of the lower pole. Now it's just sitting in the living room so they can get used to it.
One thing I was wondering though, they say to position it so that your bird won't stare into it...but what's keeping them from looking up and staring into it? |
