I got my tax return and now Oliver, our cockatiel has a new cage on the way! And yes, it is the cage that everyone has (the HQ 13221) and I can hardly wait. Next I'll be placing my first birdybooty.com order so I can furnish the new cage with new and from what I've heard awesome toys.

Is it here yet?!?

Hello All!
I'm offically starting research for a parrot, I wont be getting one for another few years (Okay. Like one or two, tops. HAH)
I've never owned birds before, but have fondly loved on several in local petstores and even had a several week long love affair with a Sun Conure at the local petsmart. (He recognized me, and I went back for days to play with him through the glass... I went back one day and someone had bought him, my heart broke. :()
I know some of you will probably suggest getting a smaller bird first, but I would prefer to only own one bird to dedicate all my time to; Therefore I would like to get my 'dream' bird the first time around.
I'm interested in a bird that will be playful and slightly cuddly, a breed I wont be afraid to let near my face.. Something not insanely loud, a little noise is okay.  I dont want something TOO tiny, but I wont lie, the macaws beaks scare the poo outta me :<, But I want one anyways, hahaha... I hope to have a bird thats pretty well rounded; I intend on moving to California after I finish a Tattoo apprenticship, and will be driving.. :)(ROAD TRIP WITH THE BIIIRDD; hah. funny thought.. is this possible anyways..?)
Anyways!
The breeds I've been looking at recently are:
Brown-headed Poichephalus;
Harlequin Macaw;
African Grey(Nervous about that one..)
Catalina Macaw;
A Sun or Green Cheek Conure

I really cant decide, and while I LOVE the way the larger birds seem to act and carry themselves, I'm leaning towards the Poichephalus or Conures.

Anyways, If anyone could point me in the direction of some good books, websites for shopping and info and just some general info.. I'd really appreciate it!
Krista
