We don't have a 24 hour avian vet, and it's just about 1:00am. Here's my problem.
For the past hour or so, I've noticed Lou is stretching alot. Like, flexing her wings, and such. Her feet and beak are also warmer than normal. She's not being as vocal as she normally is, not making any noise at all really. She's squatting like she's pooping, but the past couple times she hasnt.. She was shaking alittle, but i turned up the heat and now she's stopped. Currently, she's wandering on my shoulders, nibbling my shirt.
Has anyone ever had a bird do this stretching thing with their wings? Like what they do when they first wake up, but doing it all the time. Is there anything i can do for her to make her more comfortable until the vet opens??
I love Lou, sooo much, if there is anything i can do. i will.
++edit++
This is gross, but if it helps, she just had a bowel movement that was pretty big. it was healthy looking. I mean, really good color, not runny at all, she's being alittle more upbeat now, but still seems kinda lethargic, like, she's nodding off or something. |

Hey, I was just wondering what kind of digital scales you guys were using for your birdies? I'm in the market for one that isn't too pricey and was wondering if there is a big difference in the types? I was thinking of getting a postal scale?! |

Hey guys...
So I posted the other day about trying to decide between a Major Mitchell's cockatoo and a Galah. Still no decision, but I was thinking of making a short list of names.
I have a tradition of naming my birds after alcoholic beverages (thanks to a chicken that arrived in a 'VB' beer carton and was named VB). Assuming I'm getting a pink bird of some description...any suggestions?
So far I'm thinking "bicardi" or "Daiquiri"...but a shortlist has to be longer than that! |
