according to google trends (it shows what countries & what cities have googled a certain word the most times) people from the philippines have googled paramore the most (significantly more than any other nation), 2nd is mexico & 3rd is the usa. seeing as the top 10 countries consists of 4 south american countries it's a good thing paramore is going to play in south america. yeah, i'm pretty bored.

I was on another forum I go on reading a thread about 'emo', and they were going on about garbage about all these new bands being 'emo' even though that genre was a break off from punk in the late 1980's, and 1990's. Anyway, someone posted a link to Wikipedia (I laughed, too.) and it was a list of 'emo bands', and Paramore is part of it.

I found that funny, as well as who else was on there.
Edit: Haha, I just saw on the 'Hayley Williams' page it says that Jimmy Eat World were once on Fueled By Ramen.

hi i'm trisha, and i'm from the philippines. i heard of paramore back in april 2006 when i asked my friend for some cool songs. the first song i downloaded was "here we go again" and i instantly fell in love. i have been a huge fan since. i've tried to get people to sign a petition for paramore to come to manila but it's been slow. here's the link: http://www.petitiononline.com/pmorephi/petition.html
i am still praying hard that they come here and i get to meet them someday. i almost caught a show of theirs in the house of blues at anaheim in may 2007, but then they were gonna play 3 days after i had to leave for SF. :( i was just happy i was breathing the "same air" as they were. that's the only time i got to buy awkif, because they didn't sell it here yet. thank God for the internet.
i also have a youtube channel with acoustic covers of paramore's songs. my friend and i just do covers for fun. if you wanna check it out, please do! :) http://www.youtube.com/elegantlywasted16
i searched for this community when i came across an acoustic performance of "my heart" on youtube that was dedicated to this community. i really wanted to feel "special," having them dedicate a song to me (haha) so i joined. and hey, i get to read what to expect in a concert that i will surely be a part of one day. :)
that's it for now. i hope i'll have stories to share like all of yours someday. i'm always praying and hoping. just scream and sing at their concerts for me! just thinking about being in a concert of theirs gets me teary-eyed. haha. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!! :) |

So I was just looking at a blog update by Dustin from Thrice, where he entered all the lyrics he'd written in the past 10 years into a program called "Wordle" that makes word clouds based on the frequency certain words are used. (his blog post is here: http://www.alchemyindex.com/2008/08/28/188/)
Anyway, it made me curious as to what Paramore's would look like, so I took a while and entered in the lyrics of all their songs (which was interesting...there are a lot of songs that i know the lyrics to, but never really THINK about. especially the demos. man, some of them are really amazing). I included demos (Rewind, This Circle, etc...), as well as live additions (the old opening of All We Know, the new Flames ending, and the Miracle ending).
I also took out repetitions of choruses and stuff.

...I wondered for a while about whether or not to post what I'm about to say....part of me thinks it shouldn't bother me and it's not my place but I really wanted people's opinions
...basically it bothers me a bit to see Hayley being practically the only one to post to Paramore.net....like I have no problem if she was the only one interested in doing it and maybe the only one who was really bothered...I'd have no problem with that because IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC but I'd hate to think that the guys would feel outta place posting to the blog simply because Hayley's in the habit of doing it....Paramore's a band...right?

A few days ago, in a comment, someone posted a link to a page of a TON of live/acoustic/etc. mp3's of paramore, and I can't find the post. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I would really appreciate if someone could give me that link again. Thanks in advance.

.....I know this subject might have been discussed many times before but I, for one never really discussed it. I wanted to know what people thought of the song. Yes, it's a cover of a U2 classic so not many thought they could upstage the original but I love it. I really think it's a beautiful cover and it does the song justice.
If you haven't heard it, here it is...
I've had this song in my itunes for ages but haven't really paid attention to it 'til now. Oh and btw I'm Irish and I know all about the subject of the lyrics. |
