Memory Card Question
So i only have a 512 mb memory card for my camera. I just got a new one and it says i will only be able to video 7 minutes. So I need a new memory card. For those of you who took tons of videos and pictures at shows how many mb/G's did you need/use? I am gonna get a 2G or 4G card cause i want to take TONS. thanks in advance. 5 days till the show,i get more and more excited everyday.

what kind of camera do you have? the main problem i've ran into is with batteries when you're trying to take pics/video of an entire show with a typical, small camera.

so depending on your camera, you might want to also buy an extra battery. i have a 2gb card that usually holds everything i need for one show... but my battery will die 3/4 of the way through when i have plenty of room left on my card. you can also always delete things that aren't so great and keep taking pics, but when your battery is dead, you're done.

With memory cards, bigger is always better. You should run a few tests on your card, though, to see its limits. Leave the camera on and see how long it runs before running out of space or battery power.

You can test at different resolutions, too. However, remember that if you take pictures, you won't be taking video during that time, so you need less space if you're doing both.

thanks, and i cant really test it, it has this thing where it will just turn off every few minutes if its not being used. . .

That's probably true if you're not taking pictures, but most cameras, when put in video mode and actually recording, will stay on.

Also, you could simply try turning it on and carrying it around the house with you.

As a side note, it makes no sense to me that almost all Paramore shows these days allow cameras straight up, yet their official site solicits fan photos.

depends on the camera and the megapixels you're gonna use ..

i have a 2gig and its plenty for me. but i only shoot on 3mp because with it being so dark it actually comes out better than the 6mp but idk thats just my camera.

No ideas on the memory card, but bring several extra batteries!
You might need to replace them, and changing them in the crowd can get messy.

I dunno if sony's the only one but mine has a rechargable battery pack thing that you take out and plug into a wall to charge. it gives me about 131 minutes with a full charge.
id have a shit if I had to buy batteries all the time.

you shouldn't concentrate on taking pictures cause you'll miss a whole bunch of the show..just take a few then put your camera away and mosh!
