MMV vs JE...
MMV vs JE... who takes more of my money...? =p
JE usually releases something I want every other month and each package is usually about $40-$50 depending on what I'm getting (usually both LE and RE versions of whatever).
MMV... they usually release a DVD a year... or two like this time since they had Dream Live 5th... DVDs usually range from $90-$130 depending on what it is...
But this year... Higamyu, Dream Live 5th, Hyoteimyu (do they call it that?), and then The Imperial Presence Hyoutei feat. Higa Ver. Tokyo gaisenkouen in February of 2009... That's THREE dvds in a year _o_~~~ On Animate, they're having some special where if you pre-order both, you get Versus 5th Gen Seigaku vs. Hyoutei B DVD for free. I'm kinda waiting to see what nippon-export will do. If I get it from Animate, I'll have to go through Rinkya... but then again nippon-export charges more than the regular price anyway... I guess it all evens out, but another $184... not including all the shipping and commission costs... @_@ I'll definitely be cutting back on the JE purchases since I only really follow one group anyway these days. If I want to buy the releases later on, I'll just do that through Yahoo Japan (if you don't order immediately, you'll just miss out). (Para) |

boom kat kat! Now that women's beach volleyball is over I feel so very empty. Koyama lied. He said Happy Birthday was gonna be mature and different. Still seems very NEWS to me. Anyway, new single. Woo. I can hardly contain my joy. I wish I wasn't being sarcastic right now. I haven't been listening to Johnny's much lately so I guess I'm kinda feeling meh about it. Gotta get back into the groove. So I downloaded some new music. Including Leah Dizon's new album Communication!!!. I was a bit worried since I haven't liked any of her recent singles, but she has some good non-single tracks. I haven't listened to it all the way through, but "Not Too Bad" is my favorite song so far. Tis the jam. She should stick to the R&B-lite stuff. It suits her; everything else is kinda disasterous, to be honest. Rock, bad. Bad, bad, bad! Why, Leah, whyyyy? Ballads, bad. Honey, you get enough flack for your singing as it is, why load the haters with ammunition? Play to your strengths. The title track has a very old school 90s feel and while I'm all for that kind of stuff, it still falls flat. It's too bad cuz I like Leah, but her voice isn't strong enough to carry most of the songs. My suggestion: get the following tracks - Love paradox, Nothin' to Lose, Not Too Bad, and Thank You. They are all quite good and are what I think shows Leah at her best. Haha, I dunno why I got all review-y just now. I got immi's album Switch since it was highly recommended over at jpopsuki. More electro-pop, but not a Yasutaka creation. After skimming through it, I say I think I am going to love this album. She's got a great sound; lots of really cool tracks. Gah, there is too much P Diddy on my TV these days yet I can't look away. Why am I so hooked on Making the Band and I Want to Work for Diddy? That crazy, beady eyed bastard makes entertaining TV, what can I say. (although I will admit I've watched MtB since O-town) IWTWFD is like The Apprentice but more fun. Seriously, imagine you're in a business meeting and you throw out an idea only to be told, "that's wack!" You don't get that on Trump's show. No, sir. Plus, Diddy talks crazy talk - it's amazing. And I quote, "I feel like there's no mission that I can't accomplish. I don't care if I gotta, you know, walk to Zimbabwe, cut down some trees in a forest and jump on the back of giraffe butt naked with no money. If that's my mission, I'mma come back successful." How can I not watch that twice a week? Tomorrow's the finale of ABDC! I still haven't seen last week's. Tragic DVR mishap. But I re-recorded it and will watch tomorrow. Went to the info meeting for the single subject credentialing program and turns out that if I had a 3.0 GPA, I'd be able to start NEXT MONTH. Unfortunately, I have a 2.97. -_- So I have two options:
1 - Start the Track B program in the Winter quarter (January). I'd go part time for five quarters and end June of 2010.
2 - Start the Track A program in the Fall quarter next year, going full time for 3 quarters and end June 2010. By then my GPA will be the required 3.0 because I'll retake Health (change my D to something better) and take CPR/First Aid and maybe another class or two to bump up the GPA.
Either way I'll be REALLY busy January - June 2010. Not quite sure which way I wanna go, but I have until November till I really have to decide, so I guess I'll figure it out then.
if only I didn't fail Prehistoric Agriculture, I'm sure I'd have that 3.0 :O (Para) |

A Day of Freedom~!
Tomorrow's my day off. Can't even put into words how much I look forward to days off. A day off for me is extremely rare _o_ Hopefully nothing will ruin it tomorrow. My one day to sleep in...
So the NEWS preorder for their Happy Birthday single is up and going. I think I will actually skip it... yes, after 2 1/2 years, I won't be pre-ordering a LE single. Heck I haven't even opened my Summer Time single yet and listened to Weeeek like once. NEWS isn't my favorite group and it has really gone downhill after Hoshi wo Mezashite. Probably won't be ordering KAT-TUN's stuff either unless I really really like it. I still think their first album material is the best out of everything they have released. Kanjani8 is still dorky and awesome.
So what have I been up to besides working... I've been subbing like crazy, watching a few episodes of School Rumble, started re-watching Prince of Tennis, trying to collect all the boxed Ultraman 2 toys from Tensuke, and translating Daisuke's blog. Well thank goodness his entries aren't very long and the sentences aren't too long either. It only takes me a few minutes to translate it. Konishi Ryosei's blog entries... err... no thanks _o_ he writes a lot... Nagayan's entries are awesome XD It's like one short sentence and a picture =p (Para) |

Work today was excellent because the end of the day consisted of crushing the cardboard (which comprises of taking a rake and pushing cardboard into a large compactor and fucking around) and because my coworker raided 2 pallets worth of malted milkballs the boss explicitly said to throw out because the order for them was canceled.

Sou sa boku tachi wa kodomo datta (Indeed, we were children once) Let's get one thing clear: I absolutely hate the typical "think of the children" mentality of the do-gooders and self-righteous types that take the fun out of many things. These rules and laws passed as a result of the mentality have the effect of screwing the adults in spite of protecting the children. I absolutely think that children should understand the bad things that happen from time to time in life, such as job loss, sickness, death, destruction, and violence. The parents need their children to understand these things in order to understand its consequences and to come up with their own better solutions to solve these problems. However, disparaging all children as "lying, thieving, little shits" really helps no one's cause, and it's just the bitterness, anger, and spite talking. We all were children once.
