[20 Jul 2009|12:40pm] |
My piece in the LGBT Webcomic Charity Art Auction that'll be going on from July 20 - 24th.
Direct Link to the Auction Page My piece is on 11" x 14" Bristol Board.
Money raised by the auction will be donated to the Point Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides financial support, mentoring, leadership training, and hope to meritorious students who are marginalized due to sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
There's some other suuuuper bitchin' artists taking part in this, like my long-time favorite Paige Braddock (Jane's World), Rachel Dukes (Primary), and Megan Rose Gedris, (Yu+Me=Dream)

| Mango Vodka |
[04 Dec 2008|11:07pm] |
Hey dudes!
My husband has really gotten into infusing vodka with different fruits and tasty things (My favorite so far is the lemon infused vodka. Oh man. Freakin' delish)
He just finished making a mango one and asked me to draw a label for one of the bottles he's sending back home for Christmas.

Wow, haven't posted here in awhile... well hey hello here's a website update! (plus a sliver of an image I'm working on for a show - I will totally post the whole thing when closer to the date).

Lots of new stuff unless you've been keeping updated elsewhere! Night everyone!

| Orienteering |
[29 Dec 2007|01:19am] |
Oh man, dudes, I was so super excited that Sara Ryan agreed to write a story for me to illustrate for the upcoming Snow Stories anthology!
Here's my finished pages, without any of the word balloons and text. Er, I guess the last page has a bit of text. But I have a flu or something so man I'm just gunna let that one be.
( Big versions Down Here! ) Here's a little before/after photoshopping of the last page.

If you want to see a step-by-step progression of how I made it, click-en-Von-Clickenstein over here.

| DAR catch up |
[04 Dec 2007|09:07pm] |
Hey Dudes, here are the last 13 comics I've done for DAR.
A couple aren't safe for work and I've tried to remember to include a warning on their preview graphics, but I forgot to put one on "The Best Job" so, y'know, watch out.
( 10 more! )

| Pendants for sale! |
[21 Nov 2007|03:19pm] |
Hey everybody!
I now have an online Etsy store running, thus to sell over a dozen hand-drawn pendants like this one:
Also for sale are a little Luther Levy from my comic, various Greek goddesses, and several delightful inanimate objects of which you might conceivably be fond!
I made these for the Stumptown Comics Fest '07, and I don't know when I'll make another round, so if you'd like a little drawing to wear or give away, mosey on over.
Coming this weekend: t-shirts!

One of the more presentable examples from the slushpile of things I doodle to keep my hands moving and my mind focused during work meetings.
If I'm ever elected president and have to meet with the other great leaders of the free world, I'm afraid they're going to have to put up with my scribbling on the U.N. letterhead while we negotiate international peace.

| this one is sort of rude. |
[24 Oct 2007|02:59pm] |

It was my boyfriend's birthday the other day, and part of his present was this painting (click to see the whole thing). It's girls-in-a-row (surprise!) with sort of a card theme, because he's pretty obsessed with poker. It's also kind of racy. I felt a little embarrassed in the frame store. So will you if you open it at work.
( One more gift-painting behind the cut. )
Oh, I don't think I mentioned it on here, but I redid my website! It's got some new art, a new front page, and a shiny new shop section. Please enjoy verabee.com.

[15 Oct 2007|04:21pm] |
Hey Portland Artists!
Remember I posted some costumed life drawing that I did at the Portland branch of Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School a while back?
Well, now I'm gunna be a costumed model for them! Oh, how the tables have turned.
This Wednesday, 7pm - 10pm Dante's 1 SW 3rd Ave Portland, OR 97204
Here's some more Dr. S life drawings I've done:

| "Bioshock", get it? |
[10 Oct 2007|10:18am] |
Oh, hey, I guess this is the part where I mention that I've got another "guess the name of the game" puzzle illustration in the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (issue #221, with the Saints Row 2 cover story.)

( Illustration after the jump... )

 ( You want some'ora this?! )
OH!! And the Stumptown Comics Fest is coming up NEXT MONTH, September 29th and 30th, right here in beautiful Portland, OR and if you want to have your own table you really need to get your ass in gear and reserve one NOW because the deadline has been extended to two weeks from now.

| DAR and Portland Zine Symposium |
[09 Aug 2007|03:50pm] |
Sooo I've been updating DAR: A Super Girly Top Secret Comic Diary each week and I've got a small cache of comics to look through if you haven't checked in for a while. Or ever. Either way: comics!
The one labeled "Boobs" is probably not Safe For Work. Unless your work is totally radical. Or you work from home. In which case, Dress Code: Naked.
Also, THIS WEEKEND is the Portland Zine Symposium right here at the Portland State University. It's August 11 - 12th and admission is free - sounds pretty sweet to me. I will have a table, which is why I bring it up. See how I sneak that right in there? That is what I call 'sneaking in the info'.
