Okay. My term is over and until September I'm free. Not that I don't have to work on some stuff but no pressure. Which means that now I'll be so catching up with the luau I missed yesterday and after I catch up also with the writing I'll probably gift myself with a couple episodes of The Wire and I'll finally go buying Springsteen's latest EP which was out the other day. Expect late feedback ;)

Wednesday was a bad day to begin with, what with what happened over here. I don't want to get into my thoughts on the matter, but it's safe to say that by the time I was ready to go to sleep, I wasn't in any kind of cheerful mood.

And then Rivky called and told me that a girl from Teaneck whom I was good friends with when I was in elementary school had died. She didn't know any details, but it was pretty much out of the blue.

I saw Aliza a few years ago at Stern, she was really sweet, and it wasn't awkward at all (despite the fact that we hadn't kept in touch at all). I used to go over to her house all the time on Shabbat afternoons (when I was like 7-8). I can't imagine what her parents must be going through (I try to imagine it, but it's just too much).

And I'm also going through my user pics. And I'm even adding more quotes on the side! LOL Yup, changing it all up on here huh? I had the red for the 4th but decided to go with something country now.

I've been going kinda insane the last week or two trying to figure out what song to use next in my Mistletoe fic. It's new years eve in the story, they've only known each other since Christmas eve and I can't figure out a song to use. I've already used "What are you doing new year's eve" and Another Auld Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg just won't work cause that's about former loves. Thinkin about Kiss Me At Midnight by Nsync *Thankee phantomsgyrl * but the thing about that is that I just can't listen to the song while writing which is odd for me cause whenever I use a song, I always listen to it to help me write the chapter or fic. I've just now found Shut Up And Kiss Me which could also work. Again, not easy to write to though. I may go through my Kane lyrics...and other country lyrics to see if I can find anything.

Now I have to go because I can't focus because the kids will not listen again and refuse to go to bed.

but as my beloved Matt has told me before, "this is why the emmys suck as much as the oscars and grammys." so, really why in the fuck am I surprised, eh? this is what disillusioned him on his love of film & tv production and writing (what his Mass Communications BS from UIowa [may 2000] made him qualified to do, have opinions on, etc)... now I get it!

I told myself I wasn't closing eyes for a while until I heard the nominations for the emmys. now I wish I'd fucking gone to bed!

I already knew that neither Aimee, Annie, or Minka were going to get to their top 10 list in supporting actress despite how great their submissions were (a shame, yes, but true). I thought that if Connie felt she had a chance in that category, she'd probably make their top 10 and she didn't. I can only imagine what would've happened if Connie had gone lead actress? *sigh*

with Zach, Jesse, Gaius, Scott and Taylor in supporting actor, you'd think that at least Jesse & Zach would get some love for the hella amazing performances they turned in? no (another damned shame)! no guest actor/actress nods for Chris Mulkey (Coach MacGregor), Liz Mikel (Corrina) or even Brad Leland (Buddy) which should've happened but didn't.
