panicanxiety@gmail.comThis community is for anybody who has ever had a problem with anxiety, social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, etc.
This community was created to be a safe place for discussion. Anonymous comments are no longer possible and I encourage you to email me with concerns about any post or comment you feel is inappropriate.
You may reach the mods at ladevine (at) gmail.com, italiangm (at) sbcglobal.net and cepatrick (at) gmail.com.
I recommend everyone scan their computers for spyware and viruses regularly. I've received viruses from people in this community on more than one occasion. I would love to be able to leave my email address up.
Please read the five general rules below.
General Rules:
There are two active maintainers in this community who act as moderators only when necessary.
If there is a post that is offensive- email us.
If there is a person getting out of hand and you cannot handle it without it turning into a fight- email us.
If you think a post should just be under a cut but don't want to speak to the poster-email us.
I do not look at Livejournal every day. I do not read over every single post. I do not read every single comment made. I look to you to speak up.
What I will do if there is an issue in the community:
Usually I give a warning. Often I try to do this through email so as not to disrupt the community. If I can't, I'll post.
If an entry or reply continues to exhibit behavior that threatens community stability despite the warning, the offender's posting privilege will be suspended until the issue is settled.
Beyond that is the ban.
I'm currently in the process of cataloguing helpful community entries. They can be accessed via the Community Memories feature. Do you want to help? Drop
koniko a line through the community email or her personal email!
There is also a links list on the left side of the community's main page! Feel free to check those out as well.
We welcome you to share your resources!
If you want to share anxiety resources with the rest of the community, please post your resource in Anxiety Resources
Information on Related Disorders such as depression, ADHD, ADD, OCD, manic-depression etc can be posted here.
Know some Support Groups in your area or online? Let us know!
Any good sites on Treatments whether medicational, therapeutic, nutritional, health & wellness related can be posted here.
Finally, here's a FAQs area. Do you have a question that you think should be answered? Do you have a great resource that answers it? Comment in here!

Please read the five general rules below.
General Rules:
- Be polite (common sense here). No fighting, no insulting, no name-calling. Put really, really long posts under cuts. Be considerate of others when you post. Disagreeing is different than fighting. Whenever you feel a strong surge of negative emotion toward another poster is usually a good indicator that things are getting personal. Stop.
- Stay on Topic: This is an anxiety community. Keep it anxiety related as much as possible. Daily events are fine so long as they tie into anxiety somehow. Eg: I had this happen to me and now I'm really anxious. If the event that happened to you is beyond scary? That brings us to the next rule:
- Place anything that may be upsetting under an lj-cut and let us know what it's about. Would what you typed upset someone on a bad day? Is it graphic? Does it go into detail? Have people asked you to put it under a cut? If you don't know how, you can either check in the LJ FAQs here email ladevine or italiangm at the addresses above. (If there's any doubt, place it under a cut to be safe.)
- Advertising another community is permissable provided that the community is directly related to anxiety and disorders that tend to go along with it. Examples: depression, manic-depression, ADD, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, addiction problems, IBS, parenting with anxiety, school and anxiety, etc.
- Please make advertisements non-invasive to our friends lists! If you want to post pictures, ads, banners or videos, please place them under a cut with a short explanation of the content before the cut.
