Rules and Guidelines
Nominations
1. All nominated fics must be:
2. Please include the following in your nomination:
3. All stories must have been written and/or updated 16 February 2008 or later. (Mods have discretion to say if a fic is or is not eligible.) This does not mean that the stories have to take place during Volume 3.
4. You must include a working link to the story nominated.
5. One person may only nominate an author/fic once per category, but you can nominate them/it in as many categories as you want. The use of multiple email addresses by an individual will result in all votes from that individual being discounted.
6. An author can be nominated no more than 3 times per category and only if each nomination is from a different person.
7. If an author (The Better Than Kring Award / Most Outstanding Author) or story received a First, Second or Third place award in a previous last round, they/it is not eligible in that category for the current round.
8. Unfinished fics are eligible, but there must be at least 5 parts written, and it must have been updated in the past three months.
9. Authors may nominate themselves or others.
10. We reserve the right to correct any nominations we feel have been nominated in the wrong category. So please consider your nominations carefully.
11. No flaming nominated authors! This will absolutely not be tolerated.
12. If a category receives less than 3 nominations, the award will not be awarded.
13. The secret phrase needed for your nominations to be accepted is:
"I've always loved you."

14. Only eight (8) nominations will be accepted per category, so nominate carefully and quickly (subject to Moderators' discretion).
About the categories
15. Most Outstanding AU (“Kring so got it wrong”) award : This category is aimed mainly at non-related fics (regardless of when they were written), but other fics deviating from canon are also eligible. To be AU, there must be major differences with canon. e.g. Fics set in a different time frame, etc. Small divergences with canon do not count. Please check with us if you’re not sure.
16. Most Outstanding Epic Fic or Series (“Larger Than Life Award”) : Stories nominated in this category must be at least 20,000 words.
17. Most Outstanding Short One-shot (“Petite Award”) : Stories nominated in this category must be under 5,000 words.
18. Most Outstanding Drabble ("Less Is More Award") : Drabbles nominated in this category must be more than 100 words but less than 500 words.
19. Most Outstanding author (“Better than Kring”) award : Any author nominated for this category must have written and posted a Peter/Claire or Peter and/or Claire centric fic between 16 February 2008 and 15 February 2009. If not, they will not be eligible for this category even though they have written Heroes fanfiction during this time.
20. Moderators’ Choice Award : This will be awarded to a fic or author at the moderators’ discretion. Usually it is a fic or author that was not awarded in any of the above categories, but who we feel is deserving of recognition in the Paire community.

22. The first 8 nominated stories in each category will proceed to the voting stage. This however will be at the Moderators' discretion.
23. Each person may only vote once in each category. The use of multiple email addresses by an individual will result in all votes from that individual being forfeited.
24. There will be no vote-offs if 2 or more authors/fics tie for first or second place. If 2 or more authors or fics tie, then those authors will share the place and each author will receive a winner's plaque.
25. Authors may vote for themselves.
26. Winners will be announced after all votes have been tallied.
