Welcome to Paint and Pen, a meeting of the creative minds of ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} i_got_spunk and lindskaba, two artistically inclined friends with fantasy on the brain. Here you will find the outpourings of their creativity - the art, the poetry, the sketches, the stories - all neatly (or not so neatly; we artists tend to explode a little) displayed for your viewing pleasure. Most of what you will find here is fandom - at the moment, mostly Kingdom Hearts and Harry Potter - but amidst the obsession you may be able to spot the spark of original worlds tucked carefully in between. So stick around, if you will. Browse the archives, give us your feedback, or just hang out and wait for new additions; they're always coming. Meet the Artists...  Armed with a plethora of brushes, pencils, markers, and paints, you are most likely to catch her perched cautiously in front of a canvas, planning the next stroke. Whether digital or classic medium, this NYU junior is doing her best to master the various forms of art through the creativity strangling her bones. Any money earned is quickly lost on supplies to keep her obsession with visual beauty flowing from her finger tips. Despite her aptitude in science and math (she studies PreMed and Psychology at school), nothing makes her happier than a good song and a clean canvas. Though no stranger to the portfolio, Julia finds herself drawn to the cartooning world, where anime and manga rule supreme. Her style can often be asociated with being inspired by Japanese styles, but with her own distinct flair. She loves all colours, the brights, darks, warms and cools, blending them into visual stimulation at her will. Currently, she is doing her best to obtain a grip on the ever-elusive art of Photoshop, and has recently recieved a tablet with which to help her achieve that goal. At this time, Julia's obsessions include Kindgom Hearts, Harry Potter, New York City, and her stupid new puppy, Shoshi. She is contacting you through a MacBook and a scanner, her heart and her fingertips.  20-year-old Capricorn and an English major at Boston University, Lindsay is a connoisseur of beauty. She seeks it in all aspects of life, and is always aspiring to move herself closer to it. Though she has all of her life been attracted to all aspects of art and creativity, Lindsay is most drawn to the written word, what she considers to be the most challenging medium. She has been writing in some way or another since she was seven years old, and is constantly looking to improve her craft. She looks for inspiration in the earth - her soul's element - in the night sky, in her friends, in books, in lyrics, and most recently in the intricate stories behind fantasy video games. Other than writing, Lindsay has an intense love of the theatre. She is an actress and a singer, and works her hardest to balance her need for theatre (in plays and her lovely a cappella group) with her thirst for learning (through the challenging BU curriculum). Lindsay's favorite plays include Closer, House of Blue Leaves, and A Midsummer Night's Dream; favorite authors, Nathaniel Hawthorne, William Shakespeare, and Juliet Marillier; favorite musicians, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Elton John, Holly Brook, and Yoko Kanno. Her fandoms are mainly Kingdom Hearts, Harry Potter, Shoujo Kakumei Utena, but she could be persuaded to write for Pirates of the Caribbean, Sailor Moon, or several other fandoms; can't hurt to ask.
