Welcome to paintedspires, an SGA fanart fest!

Painted Spires is a fanart challenge in which a group of SGA artists respond to prompts submitted by the rest of fandom. The challenge will have two rounds of sign-ups. One round for artists, one for prompts.

Prompt submission will be open to everyone, whether or not they're signed up for the challenge. Prompters will be able to see a list of the artists signed up next to short descriptions of the kind of art they like to make. However, prompts will not be submitted to a specific artist but open game for every artist signed up. We'll be asking for a mix of prompts so that those giving the prompts and those giving the art can both have fun doing what they like to do--whether that's Mckay/Sheppard or Cadman dressed as a double-oh agent or anything in between.

Once that's done, we'll compile the prompts for the artists to choose from (though we'll keep who claimed what prompt secret until posting opens). Then, in mid-April, the community will open, posting at least one piece of art a day, a sort of spring advent calendar of joy, which will go on until we run out of art.

Fandom has a history of wonderful fic extravaganzas--mcshep_match, reel_sga, and the urban legends challenge, to name a few in SGA--and I think it'd be lovely to add a fanart extravaganza to the list.

March 3-9 (Mon-Sun): Artist sign ups
March 10-16 (Mon-Sun): Prompt sign ups
March 17-23: Claiming prompts
Mid to late April: Art posting begins
