I can't believe it's October. 2008 kind of vanished somewhere, didn't it?
Finished Nation, and I'd recommend it to anyone, Pratchett fan or not - there's culture and world building and explorations of faith and how people connect, and it's just generally a great read.
Next up I've got to read The Turn of the Screw by Henry James for an English Lit paper. The massive blocks of text in this thing are frightening. I find myself missing Jane Eyre and its highly detailed descriptions of Jane's life at school, because at least Jane was interesting. James' narrator has a talent for being long-winded without actually saying anything, and she kind of flaps around a lot and is tiresome.
Someone at work was talking about Supernatural today, a show I only know via peripheral fandom exposure. Fandom is probably not the best source of knowledge in this case, because I'm like, "Er, the Wincest show? Jensen Ackles? Something about a car?" I blame Fandom_Wank. :p
