A Melbourne Gothic lolita meetup?....Come over to the dark side

I just wanted to see if anyone in Melbourne would be interested in meeting up for a more GOTHIC lolita outing....

I thought we could:

A visit the "Black in Fashion" exhibition at NGV (which is free) featuring black fashions from the C17th to the present.

Lunch wherever takes our fancy

Then a trip to Vic Goth on Brunswick St in Fitzroy...famous for their gorgeous corsets, as well as being the general centre for gothic fashions in Melbourne.

To top off a day of perfect gothicness, I propose going to see the latest Batman film

All denominations of lolita are most welcome, naturally! The more of us the merrier ^_^

I don't have a date in mind, I thought it wiser to check and see when people are free as I know many lolitas work full time and such. I personally don't get paid till Friday, so it certainly wouldn't be before then. I can't make Saturday as I'm going to the footy (which is so gothic lolita! XD)

Mini Sydney Meta order?

Hey guys. I'm buying myself a parasol from Meta and I was wondering if anyone from Sydney wanted to jump in to buy a something small for themselves. We could meet up and I could hand over the items personally :)

The parasol I'm getting is 3800 and the total order needs to add up to under 10000 yen.

Hellllo guys
For ages, I've been trying to find this T.V show that was talking about the Lolita subculture. It was on late 2005, early 2006 I think, probably on SBS. The only bit of it I remember was them talking about Gothic Lolita fashion, but I only watched a snippit of it because I had homework or something (I left after they were talking about lolita's cutting or something)
I apologise for my ridiculously broad details, but I have an awful memory and it's driving me crazy!

I never even thought to look for an Australian lolita community, lucky I stumbeled across it i guess~!
I go by the name faith when I'm in lolita, which is pretty often. I'm 16 and live in brisbane.
I love tea partys and cooking and sewing. I live a home-ec life .__.
Anyways~ I'd love to meet some lolitas around brisbane, even if you do all seem to be at least 5 years older then me.

New Lolita Store in Sydney?

Yesterday going home from work, I saw a store on the other side of Broadway/Parramatta Road that said "1019 Punk Gothic Lolita". Has anyone else seen, or been in this store?
From what I could see the clothing on the mannequins didn't look so great. Though my judgment may be swayed by that fact that it looked like a fairly new store and didn't seem decorated, and the bus I was in was constantly moving with my view being obscured by other cars.
Anyway, if anyone wants to have a look the store is in Ultimo on the side of the road leading into the city. It's also right next to EasyWay ;)

Winter coats in Brisbane

Hallo!

I have a question for other Brisbane lolis. I want to buy a winter coat. I have been freezing my ass off in Brisbane this winter. I am specifically in love with this Victorian Maiden wool coat, but I can't decide whether or not it's a good idea to pop $600 on it. Brisbane gets cold, but it doesn't snow or anything, and I don't know if this coat would be overkill for our (relatively) mild winter.

The alternative is this other VM coat but I don't like the design quite as much. It'd be good for the rain though, which incidentally is bucketing in Ashgrove right now. D:

What do you think?

The handful of Brisbane lolitas who weren't at Gencon went out for karaoke yesterday. I thought I'd share some of the photos we took.

Please note: a) there's a lot of photos so dial up beware! b) the lighting in karaoke room is not great... these are no masterpieces!

shieldkitten and Martina dressed to match. They are so adorable and sweet they make my teeth hurt.

shieldkitten is a master of the microphone. I'm not sure what she was singing here... but it obviously necessitated pointing.

sweetphaex shows us how to sing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" with 15% more feeling (while Martina hunts down the Sailor Moon theme in the Japanese song book).

Brisbane Karaoke Meet

Hi guys! So I've decided to hold the Brisbane Karaoke meet at Fat Louie's instead since the song selection fails a little less hard than at Jota. It is $30 per hour for 3-8 people, and $5 per person for each hour after, so the more people that can come the better.

When: Saturday, July 5th, 1.30 p.m.
Where: Meet at Borders, as usual, before moseying down to Fat Louie's

But first I need to gauge numbers because I don't doubt the first few days will be sold out very quickly so I'm thinking for the Sunday 20th: 6:00pm session - also afterwards head to The Three Monkey's Coffee and Tea House - so I can book tables ect.

We can go have a walk down the Southbank Parklands and Markets till the movie.
Movie: 6:00 (They're playing all session on the huge IMAX screen too!)
After: Tea + Coffee + Food at The Three Monkeys which is a short bus/walk from Southbank to West End - food is well priced and delicious and is furnished like exotic tea house - I love this place so hardcore! They're opened till late and BYO.

Brisbane Karaoke Meet - postponed

Hey ladies, I know I talked to some of you about having a karaoke meet up this Saturday (21st June), but I'm postponing it to July 5th to give people more time to clear schedules and finish exams and whatnot. It'll be a totally casual sing-a-long, talent and knowledge of Japanese not required (XD). This is open to all lolitas in the area, so if you're interested and think you can come on July 5th (it's a Saturday!) please let me know so I can gauge numbers.

As of now my plans are to hold it in mid-afternoon and then the people who want to stay for dinner can stay. I'll make a formal announcement post closer to the date.
