Community Profile

The Community
This community is for the purpose of sharing and discussing the lesser known Japanese music of pre-1997, such as Unicorn, BOØWY, The Blue Hearts, Tokunaga Hideaki and many others. Essentially, the idea is that all artists we will discuss/share/whatever will be at least 35 xD; Sure, that's not actually old, but we like to act like it is, since age standards on Japanese musicians are ridiculous.

Share music, information, photos, Youtube links, ask questions, make reasonable requests, by all means! ANYTHING, as long as it concerns bands that were around in / have been around since the "old" days of like, 1997 at the latest. For example, I personally will be trying to provide the latest news on old-timer artists and probably try giving some short profiles from time to time to keep everyone informed on these classic musicians.

This community is primarily not oriented towards visual-kei, so please keep that in mind. We're not here to gush about X Japan (not that they weren't awesome) or old Malice Mizer or anything like that. We're here for music that you don't hear about every day.

Rule Thingies
1. Comment on things. As humans, we need interaction in order to function. Even if it's just a "Thanks a bunch" or a "WTF?"
2. As far as uploading and downloading goes, you know the delete after __hours rule, so we'll stick to that one, right? 9_9
3. Let's please speak as best we can. And I don't mean "speak perfect English", because whether you speak perfect English or not doesn't matter in the least. All I ask is that you NOT say stuff like "any1 unicorn plz? XD kthxbai". That kind of stuff makes me.........well, very angry.
4. Quintessentially, let's all be nice to each other. No snobbery, no holier than thou-ness, no elite bitchery. We're all the same bipedal fleshy creatures here, and everyone knows that messing up makes you cuter. *cough*
5. Concerning requests, if you are fulfilling someone's prior request, please put it into a new separate post as opposed to simply fulfilling it in a comment/reply. That makes it easier for anyone else who might also want whatever you're giving.
6. FRIENDS LOCK ALL POSTS TO THIS COMMUNITY, PLEASE.
7. Clarification on what we like posted in this comm:
a) Japanese bands / artists that have been established for ten years or more, regardless of genre. From enka to heavy metal, we just want our music well-traveled.
Also, this of course does not mean that bands that have broken up don't count.
b) tributes to/covers of bands/artists such as those stated.
8. Annnnd some other eighth thing.

About us Mods
I, Linnet, will be the mod who takes care of stuff like the layout and the community info and all the paperworky snippets of html end of things, and I'll take care of answering questions and tracking down news and so forth. My associate here, Jessica, will take care of fulfilling requests, uploading things en masse, and whatever else needs doing xD
