hello from a pub in St Andrews =D
Ah the joys of a holiday, drink in hand, golf on the telly and free wireless.
I need to go in like...2 minutes, but this does mean that I should get on more. If I don't get into this pub a lot, they have holiday memberships at the library!
So, I'll be on now and again, which a few people are happy about...a few not=p
And Cara! I hate you being in Singapore! =P Have fun
xx
Ow. My stomach is seriously hurting for some reason. I woke up several times overnight with horrible stomach pain, and now that I'm up...ow, it's really bad.
I'd love to know what the cause is...especially since we have to get into a car and drive back to NJ today so I can take a train back to PA on Monday.
Just....make it stop?
okay, very late to the party here - am having major issues with lj's new update and am having to do ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING in html - but i figured i'd better get this thing posted at least before the next episode airs.

Carbon Leaf tonight rocked! :D We got there late though, due to issues with GPS and traffic. (the GPS wanted us to go through traffic lights to avoid stop-and-go traffic on the highways. Yeah, we didn't get it either)
Barry was totally reading my mind or something tonight. I thought "I'd love to hear On Any Given Day" and then it was played. He did that with One Prairie Outpost, Grey Sky Eyes, and Another Man's Woman, too. So either it's some freaky ESP thing going on, or I've started predicting CL shows. Barry's new haircut....it's not bad, but I really preferred the floppy hair. We got lots of eye contact from Barry, Terry, and Carter. It was nice. And also amusing.
obsessed1 has a video she took with Barry practically focusing on the three of us. Afterward, I wanted to get Barry, Terry, and Carter to sign photos from the cruise of them (I didn't have any photos of Jordan and Jason printed up I discovered). Barry managed to drop the entire plastic case that held my four metallic pens (for writing on the dark photos), and then he signed on Terry's photo "by accident". Amusing was the multiple hugs from Barry....and he grabbed me by the forearms and SQUEEZED them hard when he was talking to me. Ow. I bruise easily! Carter didn't like the photo of him I had brought along. He said it was "unflattering" but then went on to say that all photos of him were unflattering. Silly man. Terry chatted with me for a while while he was signing his photo, and suggested that S&D'ers who want CL on S&D should start sending e-mails to Sixthman. Terry told me they hadn't been asked at all about S&D, just TRB, so that's why they're on TRB. He pointed out that it worked to get them on S&DIII, so if any of you going on V want to see CL, I suggest emailing Sixthman or starting a thread on the board. It's silly for me to do it since I'm not going.
I also met/re-saw a few boardies (though I'm not entirely sure which board it was) who had gone on the cruise, and since I wore the cat ears for people to find me, recognized me.
After the show, we got drinks (Obi and
darthrami had something fruity and alcoholic, I had a cup of ice) and then left to go sit along the Chesapeake for a little bit before heading back to DC.
I'm currently propped up on the sofabed in our SUITE at the Washington something-or-other....this place even has a balcony and a kitchen! I'm utterly exhausted between the lack of sleep the past few nights and then being out all night. Even better is we want to be awake in about 4 hours to grab free breakfast! So, g'night.

Me: Did you see Dr. Horrible?
Her: I so did!
Me: OMG I love Neil and Nathan. Can we ship Doogie/Mal?
Her: ROFLMAO
Me: You know you love me
Her: *still snickering*
And I think I got heat exhaustion standing outside in the horrible heat. I was talking to the lady who bought my bread machine and she was telling me stories about her kids (who are a few years younger than me)...but now I feel awful. BLERGH. I was outside for three hours! I'm surprised I'm not sunburned....
Mental note: Waterbottles for this weekend. Obi and Becca do *NOT* want a repeat of Bus Four.

You know...usually I get all excited when friends who aren't fans of the band send me links, or IM me to tell me they saw/heard/read something about BNL...but not today. Today, I would like to crawl under a rock and perhaps not come out until this has all blown over.
My first reaction to this news was to burst into tears. Yes, I know, a silly thing to do, but when you've been following a band for 13 years and have regularly interacted with them for the past 8, this type of thing affects you.
My google alerts for BNL have shot through the roof. 19 alerts since midnight last night. It's EVERYWHERE, including some of the well-known celebrity gossip sites, which I really don't think is right.
I still respect Steve, and I think he has a right to his privacy. On the other hand, if the outcome is going to affect the band and/or touring/cruising, then I think some type of statement should be made to the fans - AFTER his court date.
I'm not reading any more news articles that allow "comments", because it's getting old. The Brian Wilson jokes, the One Week jokes...the nasty comments....I don't want to read it. I'll stick to .net.
