We are the premier community for those with the pre-existing eating disorder ED-NOS that relate to anorexia nervosa &/or bulimia nervosa who are currently or have been medically overweight. Whether it's fasting, binging & purging, calorie counting, or heavy restriction, everyone is welcome.
Most of those who suffer with eating disorders also suffer with other issues such as depression, self-injury (SI), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Bipolar Disorder, addiction - the list goes on. Those are the other halves of discussion. |
as of apr. 23, 2008 1. To be a member, you must be at least 16 years old, your year of birth must be visible on your profile. This isn't just personal preference but an issue of legality as well.
2. Your journal must be at least one month old. If you have recently created a journal just for communities such as ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) owed, you must message Bri from both names and she will decide whether or not you will be able to join at that time.
3. You must currently be or have been in the recent past overweight by medical standards (ie. a BMI over 25). You can think you are fat but if you aren't nor haven't ever been overweight, this isn't the proper community for you.
4. You must already have a pre-existing eating disorder to be a member. Those looking for a "quick fix" or someone who is trying to recover should not join. Don't ask for tips period.
5. Popular culture has given us the terms "ana" and "mia" - please refrain from using them in your posts. Make it a point to use "anorexia" and "bulimia".
6. If you make reference to eating disorders as anything other than a medical condition, you will be banned.
7. Do not spam the community nor cross-post everything that you write.
8. Place all images (including, but not limited to, personal pictures, weight counters, and inspiration) and long posts under an lj-cut. You will be reminded if you forget but if you don't fix the issue, your post will be deleted. If you continually "forget", you will be banned.
9. If you are going to be an active member of the community and more times than not your posts revolve solely around your binges and every mistake you make, don't bother posting. We all make mistakes but we need things other than play-by-plays of your fuck ups.
10. Do not promote other communities.
11. Please use your better judgment when making posts. We aren't post nazis and welcome open, honest dialogue in owed, but anything that is outright going to kill you/dangerous or those that are too close to "pro-ED" should be kept in your personal journals.
12. If you you leave comments regarding this community in any of the mods' personal journals, you will be banned. Ways to contact them are to your right.
13. If you decide to disregard any of the aforementioned rules and it's discovered, you will be removed from the community and banned. |
