Welcome to the Outsiders Slash Archives!

The first and only! :)

Your mod is: [info]scentedpen

What is slash?

Slash is a fanfiction term for a romantic relationship between two people
of the same gender.
Yes, this means lesbian/homosexual situations.

What is The Outsiders?

The Outsiders is a wonderful book written by S.E. Hinton in the '60s. Hinton was 16 when her book got published. A basic summary is that several boys (from oldest to youngest are Darry, Two-Bit, Dally, Steve+Soda, Johnny and Ponyboy) live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Darry, Soda and Ponyboy are brothers and live in a difficult time as their parents are deceased and Darry is the only one who can be called a legal guardian, and he cares for his brothers. One night, a fight with the Socs, or the rich kids, gets out of hand, and Johnny and Ponyboy have to flee with the help of Dally. The book is so slashy at times, I had to go back and highlight each innuendo. I found a lot. :)

What are the posting guidelines?

Well, honestly, I'm not too strict on this stuff. Here's a basic template:

Author:

Title:

Rating:

Pairing:

Disclaimer:

Summary:

( Required LJ Cut goes to story )

Please keep all stories under an LJ-Cut or at a separate link
for those of us with computers that take forever to load. (like myself.)

Can I post het?

I'm a little strict on this. I suppose as implied or in small doses, het is
acceptable. However, please don't post mainly het stories, where het is the main
pairing. This is a slash community; we embrace the main pairing being two boys
or two girls doing what our whims decide, with or without resistance (the true
words of an author. :)). Therefore, het as a side or secondary
pairing is acceptable, whilst het being the main pair with or without a slash
pair is not welcomed.

What are the basic rules?

1. Please be friendly!
It's good to give constructive criticism, but doing
so in a friendly way provides more building ground for the author. Following the
author's wishes on con-crit should give you a good idea of what they want in
terms of critique.

2. No pair bashing. That is totally against the rules. I myself am really
into random rarepairs. Please don't pair bash! It's just not fun for anyone.

3. Fan art is so accepted! We like fanart, really!

4. All fiction should follow the old rating system on FF.net. This system
is much like the MPAA's rating system: G, PG, PG-13, R and NC-17.

5. PLEASE friends-lock NC-17 stories. While I have no problem with said
stories being on here, we don't know who is going to be viewing our things.
R-rated stories should have a visible warning. The harder the R, the bigger the
warning. You be the judge on what does and doesn't go under the cut. Remember:
the internet broadcasts a lot of things. Let's be careful!

6. ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNITY PROMOS. Especially rating communities! I'm
going to say it right now: we don't care! If it doesn't have to do with The
Outsiders, please don't post it! We don't care! Unless the promo is for another
Outsiders slash community, we couldn't give a damn.

7. Keep all public swearing to a minimum. Try to keep all the swearing in
your posts that is not in the story down to a dull minimum. I'll let you guys be
the judge.

Anyone caught breaking these rules will be warned. Should they break the
rules twice, they will be banned from the community.

My pairing isn't in the interests!

No problem! Let me know and I'll gladly help you add your pairing to the interests list! :)

That said, joinjoinjoin! This community is just getting
started; we need all the members we can get! :) GO! TELL YOUR FRIENDS! DO...
WHATEVER.
