Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Terrans and Silgrians, welcome to LiveJournal's first community devoted entirely to icons from the anime (or manga!) Outlaw Star. I'm the creator and moderator

fanciful I'm running the show.

There isn't a whole lot of Outlaw Star lovin' here in ElJayLand (at least not that I've come across), so I'm looking to spread it around! That's what this community is about - making userpics from Outlaw Star because we love it. However, even outlaws gotta follow rules sometimes.

Roi Explains Le Rules

1. Keep in mind that this is an Outlaw Star Community. This means that your subject matter should relate (in the way of icons, headers, banners, colorbars, or desktops) to Outlaw Star. All pairings in the series are allowed, all characters, settings, places, things, quotes, and otherwise are permissable as long as they are from Outlaw Star.

2. When posting, if you have more than three icons or a header, banner, desktop, etc. be courteous and put it under a cut. If you are unsure of how to do this, go here and smarten thyself.

3. Also, if your icons/header/banners/images contain questionable content, like anything over PG-13, put it under a cut and please put a warning in the subject line or post. Posts that violate this will be deleted, and repercussions will be enforced. If you are unsure whether your post contains such matter, be safe and put it under a cut.[Orange sez: this means yaoi/yuri/gay people. :D]

4. Linking back to your journal is acceptable as opposed to putting your images in a post to the community. Images of other subject matter are allowed on those posts, as long as there are at least two Outlaw Star pieces. If there is only one, I suggest you make a post to the community with just that one item.

5. This community is not for posting fanart. Your images must have a use, such as being formatted and manipulated in such a way so that they can be used as LJ icons, journal headers, friend's only banners, and desktops.

6. As a continuation of rule numbah 5, fanart is, however, permissable for use in your images. Just make sure you credit who originally created the art, and get permission to use it.

7. NO HOTLINKING. I'm going to say this for all those posting in the community so they don't have to. Bandwidth is difficult to come by when you have dozens of people stealing it from you. If you are using any images in the community, save it to your computer and then upload it onto LJ to use as an icon or to somewhere like Photobucket or ImageShack to use elsewhere on LJ.

8. Imagemakers are responsible for asking the general public to credit them for their work. DO NOT come crying to a mod if you find that people are using your images without crediting you. Put rules for using your images in your posts.

9. PARTICIPATION IS A MUST. Do not join this community if you aren't going to be active. Now this doesn't mean that all of you have to make so many icons per hour and post every day; it just means that you should come and look at others' work every once in a while, perhaps make a few images of your own, use images from the community, and/or comment on posts to give the imagemakers that warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

11. If you have any questions about the rules, this community, or anything else, pose them here. If we find pointless comments on our journals, we're not going to be happy, you will be penalized, and your question will not get answered. So ask questions there.

12. Last, but certainly not least, IF THERE IS ANY DRAMA WHATSOEVER IN THIS COMMUNITY, PREPARE TO BE BOOTED. We will not tolerate drama of any sort, whether it be "You stole my artwork, jerk!" and the fight that ensues, or anything else. You are all supposed to be at least 13, so act like mature, sentient beings and we won't have to ~~kill you~~ treat you like small, mentally deficient children. If you have a problem with one of the mods, take it up with her in a private conversation. Be kind. Be courteous. And if you can't handle that, then GET OUT.
