Welcome to Ouran Host Club Awards Community.
This community is a weekly icon challenge based on the manga and anime Ouran Koukou (high school) Host Club created by Hatori Bisco-sensei.

General Theme:
A theme will be provided, either something broad like happiness or a single word like fighter or a technical challenge, and you will need to construct an icon that best represents that theme whether it be through the image or text used in the icon.
Lyrical Theme:
The lyrics to a song will be posted. Use at least three consecutive words but make sure the lyrics are the only text on the icon.
Image Theme:
An image -- screencap, black and white or colored manga scan, official artwork -- will be provided for you. Color, brush, crop, and animate the icon however you want, but the only image used should be the one provided.

Join and You're a Host Starting Today.
(call the members as “host”)
Rule number one, when you put down the glass, you have to use your pinky finger as a cushion. Off course, it’s a way to make you look good. When you have any kind of problem, it’s better to see the people from a lower perspective.
* Be polite and considerate to others.
* Icons should be no bigger than 100x100 pixels and 40KB. They must be in gif, jpg, or png format.
* This is a Ouran Koukou Host Club Community, all icon must be Ouran Koukou Host Club related.
* No fanart/doujinshi/cosplay images.
* Icons must be new for the contest, no more then seven days. Obviously, it has to be made by you.
* Do not steal another person’s work, this includes copying tutorials.
* You are not allowed to advertise your icon(s) until the winners have been announced.
* You must ask the creator of the icon before you take it and give a proper credit.
* Some challenges will have different rules and some will have certain images that you can use.
* Do not complain to anyone if your icon doesn’t win.
* Have fun and happy icon making.^^

* To submit, you must be a member of the community.
* Icons must be uploaded onto a server that allows direct-linking.
* You may enter a total of three icons per weekly theme, unless stated otherwise.
* Submit your icons to the screened post titled WEEK 00: (challenge name).

To vote you must first join the community, if you are not a member, your vote will be discarded immediately. Voting will occur from Friday night to Sunday night every week. Comments are screened, so you do not have to worry about people seeing how you voted.
Vote for your three favorite icons in the order that you like them.

First place gets 3 points, Second place gets 2 points, and Third place gets 1 point; so order does matter!
Also vote for an icon that you think best represents the special category, which varies every week.
Most Creative: The icon that shows the most originality from the others through its cropping, blending, captioning, or typography, etc.
Best Adaptation: The icon that represents the theme the best through both the chosen image or text.
Best Caption: The icon that has the best text content. This means the words' actual meaning matches the icon well. This can be well-chosen lyrics, a good phrase, or even a single, effective word.
Best Color: The icon that stands out from the rest color-wise. It has the most effective use of color, whether it's faded, vivid, monotone, or duotone, etc.
Most Emotional: The icon that has the biggest emotional impact on the viewer compared to the other icons. The image and/or text is very well chosen and evokes any strong feeling.
Best Typography: The icon with the best treatment of text regardless of text content. This applies to the physical appearance of the words on the icon and can include good use of dingbats. Good text placement also plays a role in good typography.
All votes are screened so that only the mods can view them. Voting is just as important as submiting, so everyone should take a moment to vote on the icons of their choice.
Remember, you may not vote for your icon(s).
