Just a quick note because I desperately need to go to bed...


Of all the things there are to love about Doctor Who, I think one of the most fantastic is continuity.  They've got the whole plot worked out before they even film that first episode and it's just bloody brilliant.  After nearly dying of fangirl glee last week at seeing an ATMOS sticker in a Season Three car, I get to have another moment tonight.  Been expertly hooking my parents on the wonder that is Doctor Who and tonight was The Fires of Pompeii.  I mean, wow.  After that epic season finale and today's revelation, I'm a hundred times more excited to be rewatching the season with mum and dad.  It's like hunting for clues (LOST-style)!

Rose and the Bug and the 27 planets stuck a second out of time in the Medusa Cascade.  RTD's just brilliant.  And here I was feeling proud that I'd called the epic importance of the bee disappearance right from the off in episode one; seems hardly sleuthy of me now.

Work continues to be pretty good. I like it a lot, I'd definitely want to keep it if I weren't leaving for Santa Cruz soon. I don't work for the rest of this week, and then next week the rush starts... and I work Monday-Thursday for 7 (up to 8) hours each day? Fun stuff!! Haha.

So I commented on that recent anon meme that was going around and I meant to post it, but by the time I got around to it, the post already maxed out? LOL oops. So I'll take a page out of xenoamorist's book and make this post for it!

Okay, so I seriously fail at life. No really. This is the second time in less then I week I almost crashed our computer. The first time this happened I rammed a vacuum into the front of the computer and it wouldn't even start so my mom had to unplug and re-plug everything in the computer and today, I'm not even sure what I did. I probably hit the computer with my chair and loosened something and then my mom had to fix it again. Wow, I feel like this is a sign that's saying stop spending so much time on the computer. Hahaha.

Haha. I was watching Chi's Sweet Home and this episode made me want pancakes really bad. I hadn't had dinner yet, so I thought, "Why not?" and got up to give it a shot.

Now, I have a reputation among friends and family to utterly fail at pancakes. Like, it's known as a curse, and me even being in close proximity to someone cooking pancakes is rumored to burn them. Haha, it's not actually that bad, but at least you have some idea of my expectations of this dinner adventure.

I haven't tried making pancakes in years, but we had pancake mix and the such, so I followed the directions on the back. Lets just say, it started with me greasing the pan with Crisco, and it all went downhill from there. Halfway through my first doomed pancake, Kelsey comes out to the kitchen and decides to stand there and watch me.

Kelsey: ...Are you making pancakes...?
Me: Yeah
Kelsey: ...Did you butter the pan with Crisco?
Me: ...Yeah.
Kelsey: You're not suppose to do that. You're suppose to use this pam.
Me: Yeah, I'm well aware of that.
Kelsey: That's probably why it looks so weird.
Me: Yeah, I'm well aware of that.
Kelsey: ...And what's with this batter? You didn't add enough water.
Me: Yeah, I'm well aware of that.
Kelsey: It's suppose to be a lot more liquidy.
Me: Yeah, I'm well aware of that.
Kelsey: It's probably going to taste really bad too.
Me: Yeah, I'm well aware of that.
Kelsey: ...You're burning it, you know.
Me: ........yeah.

After waiting a few beats for me to add, "I'm well aware of that", she looked at me with an expression that just screams, 'There's no help for you' and offered to make me some pancakes - after, of course, I threw out the gross batter and such.

I also want you to note that Kelsey randomly offering to do anything for me is kinda weird, since we don't even talk to each other normally. Anyway, after a good while, with a "see this isn't that hard," the only thing breaking the silence, I brought it up from my dejected chair in the corner of the kitchen.

Me: ..........You're only cooking these because I'm so pathetic, aren't you...?
Kelsey: Yeah, pretty much.

So, in the end, I am a sad excuse for a human pancake making being, but Kelsey makes some delicious ones, so my craving was filled.

But please take heed, I make some mouth watering eggs.

I get there this morning, and see tons and tons of blankets (in there packages) near my stock room. WTF? comes to mind right away.
I swipe in, and come back out stare. and then go to get the keys.... see big empty space... where 2 fixtures used to be..... @#$%!!?!?!?!!!!
Then i proceed to talk to myself: "what the fuck? Why the hell are MY fixtures gone?" Then remember i need to get my keys, so i go do that and open up the stockroom door..... and then STARE at the shelves while thinking about where to put all the blankets w/o a home now. The whole time talking to myself in a rant mode fashion. I rearrange stuff in my already packaged shelves to fit these blankets. I go out to look at what blankets i have, and see Murray coming with today's stock and think, that of course today of all days i get my stock early. And that's when he tells me that when he came into work yesterday, with 2 things he needed to do, they gave him more things, and that Brenda came up to him and said she was just told that 2 fixtures in the Linens department need to be sent to another store. The new one in Waterloo to be exact. That they "needed" them.

WTF? I need them. We NEED them.  We were USING them, they were FULL. Full of blankets. And what are we getting a lot of right now? B-L-A-N-K-E-T-S. Stupid idiots. Nobody told me. Almost nobody knew about it period.

It gets better.... the stock, like most of it, is for Bay Days, which is in about 2 weeks. Meaning I can't put it out. I can't unpack it, because the shelves are full of pillows and BLANKETS. MURDER.

James was in so YAY! housewares, he did the stock for today.

I was stuck there til 2 today, which annoys me but... at about 15 mins to 1pm, I was in the Linens stockroom and I here over the PA: 14J & 14Z. Please go to the Furniture section. 14J & 14Z to the Furniture section. And also Wendy A" (Wendy A - is Wendy N, her number is 14A)  I'm thinkin' 'what hellish things are they gonna make them do in furniture?'  I had to take a couple glass vases over to decorative and was glancing over to the furniture section and I see Debbie (14Z), Wendy (14A), Jane (14J), and someone who looked a lot like Mary Anne. So I put down the 2 vases and loop around over to them and it was her!

this is the first time i've seen her since she left to have her hip replacement surgery. I was so happy to see her.  She was on crutches. Her-- she looks so much better. The bags under her eyes were gone, her skin was a more healthy colour... i'm sure it was all from the pain she was feeling, and the stress of wondering if it was the cancer coming back or not. She really did look so good, her friend Barb was there too. She's bee helping Mary Anne do the everyday things. For 2 weeks Mary Anne couldn't have a shower. So she was happy when they removed the 52 staples. She can't bend over or down yet, so ppl have to shave her legs for her. >.> Barb was saying the Mary Anne's getting really bored and misses everyone and work. XD  I bet she does. She won't be back till Novemeber.


Still waiting on Lily's first appearance... may be longer then the scheduled Aug 22nd....
If she comes on the 23rd i'll be able to remember the date... that's Squall's b-day. XD



EDIT: oh and i had an accident with the door handle as work, and my god it hurts.

... Why do my dad and brothers think it's more effective to SCREAM at Simon when he gets into their rooms, than to just pick him up and leave him outside said rooms?

Simon's a small, friendly cat who has no trouble whatsoever with people picking him up. It would take two seconds to pick him up and put him outside, and they'd spare everyone of the screaming and yelling. It's not like we don't all scream and yell enough already.

... Of course, the one who yells louder is my older brother, who also happens to be the biggest and strongest of them. He could probably kill Simon with one hand if he wanted, but he squeals like a bitch if the cat gets close to him or zomg tries to play with his shoes or anything SCARY!!1 like that.

I will also be the screamer in Allonzy Alonzo, while we're being raging nerds. ;) So, it's really gross out today because we're still getting outer bands from that tropical storm. I really, really don't like getting my hair wet, so I wear toques generally, when it rains. Well today I wore it about for a bit after lunch since it's FUCKING COLD in my building and I was trying to dry off AND not freeze to death. My boss took one look at me and declared me fit to rob a bank. What do you think?
