The Family in Tijuana, MX-02
I was sifting through the picture albums, now that we've unpacked our boxes again after the fires in N. California, and happened upon this particular photograph that made me giggle so much. Especially the word on my younger son's sombrero---Cisco Kid, and the look he has on his face.
Older son was not a willing participant, rather evident-the expression on his face. Poor kids-- the stuff parents make children do. lol lol lol!
I highly doubt that we could pull that charade on them now...thank the heavens we did it when we could! Such joyous memories!
Laughing uncontrollably, ...at this hour of the night. luv it!
oh by the way, that donkey ala mule ala burro, that my younger son's perched on is a live one, with stripes like a zebra. that is what that got me SO excited that I had to have this picture, and the guy who took the picture was probably thinkin...yah...tourista...now I make me some peso!
oh- oh- and- and-, my younger son just reminded me of this: when we crossed the border and were at INS...the officer said, Welcome Back, folks, did you have a nice time...and my older son responded with a: I am so happy to be back in the US and can't wait to get home. R O F L! |

| ON user pics... |
[Aug. 17th, 2008|06:55 pm] |

Sacramento, California
I enjoyed participating on today's writer's block question and the responses I received. Its one way to know some of my friends, whose choices of usernames are now clear to me.
Anyway, that brought to mind, why do we use certain userpics to identify ourselves at different times. Most of my pics are cropped.. And since this is the one I am currently using, I shall spill a little bit about it. The most ambivalent moment of my life.
It was taken in 2006. Last day at school, last day of work as well, retired now... older son graduated that night, I was preparing mentally for back surgery which was to take place, the following week, and had already come up to the foothills to sign rental agreement to move up here. So many things happening all at once.
On July 4th. of '06 we shifted up here. I am both sad and happy. I miss my older son very much. Out of one picture the many tales. I hope this will spark other fellow lj-ers to share their reasons for their userpics, if their heart suits it.
Oh, I have two hundred more wrinkles now, its been two years. LOL
From time to time I may share more about my other pics. |

| Speaking of deer |
[Aug. 17th, 2008|07:37 am] |

some trivial facts: as you may notice there is no hint of grass around the deer, its a city ordinance, to prevent forest fires from reaching the homes.
These are a couple of doe (s) that frequent this area. I wonder why? Ehem.. hehehe. Well, I have given them names as well. The one that is looking up, is B'oki for my sister-in-spirit b_oki and the one lookin down, doing her research is Asakiyume asakiyume. Its quite appropriate my selection of names, as we all know the wanderer, asakiyume, is always digging deeper to find things that most of us may overlook. Not me...that is why I find her so intriquing, we have something in common. And B'oki because she is my mentor on many levels, she is giving me that look to remind me to have a balance even when I occasionally RANT. That's an understament for the week. :D Don't forget to write a haiku and tanka, Wic, is most likely what Bette would say to me!
I waited to post this because the wanderer wandered off for a bit, and looks like she has returned. |

early this morning when I went to do my ritual. maya was just waiting for me to dump the seeds on the stump. she was way down the hill at first, when she spotted me, and before I knew it she was beside me. I was talking to her, asking her if she wanted to eat out of the container. No Response, she kept sniffing the stump.
This is one amazing experience for me. I do call her by her name, Maya... Maya from up the deck when I see her.
my heart skips a beat everytime she comes around maya, my best friend |

| Not that YOU asked... |
[Aug. 16th, 2008|08:31 pm] |
Yes. I was glued to the TV set tonight, watching Sens. Obama & McCain's appearance on CNN with The Reverend, Rick Warren as host questioning both candidates on several issues.
What I came away with it, not that you asked- ;D is that, the Pastor was quite fair to both candidates and he seem to present himself as neutral, more than I can vouch for the NEWS network.
Anyway, this is my take: What bugged me about Obama is his view about Jesus Christ and how he died for our sins. Ehem. Wonder what happened to all of those civilizations before Jesus? ONE STRIKE in my book.
And McCain was evasive in regard to the question: How do your define RICH?
He went to Timbaktu and back. One STRIKE in my book.
I am not going to hang that man because he said GOOK. We all make mistakes, and I know no matter how we present ourselves as not being a racists, we have all judged others. We would be GOD or Wakantanka ( Native American's reference to THE GREAT SPIRIT) ...if we NEVER EVER uttered something negative about someone in the privacy of our homes or flew off the handle because of someone else's viewpoint.
JUDGING others should be the number ONE SIN. WE are CREATED EQUAL, for we have all sinned...AMEN! :D
and Good Night ya'll...
signing off, PREACHER WickED Peas! Hahaha. |
